  i am having a discussion at work with the jw's.

  should you spank a child to make them understand or do you reason with them.

  they both agree with spanking.

  Ditto Cofty! Your doing nothing more then causing pain in a child to get what you want. Or even worse your pissed off when you do it. There are way better ways of dealing with a children.

  I remember my folks used to make us put our nose in the corner. As in touching the corner or they would draw a circle on the wall and make us put our noses on it. Hated that worse then spanking when you had to spend 30 minutes with your back aching. But then again if we didnt keep our noses on the spot we got a whipping.

  I was lightly beaten if you can call it that. The typical bumping arms and fighting over an armrest was enough for all four of us to form a swat line on the couch at home after the meeting. They would never do it at the hall but we knew we were toast when we got home.

  Thanks everyonel for the posts. I find your comments are amazing. I wish now looking back, I had broken the cycle.

  I am having a discussion at work with the JW's. Should you spank a child to make them understand or do you reason with them. They both agree with spanking. I have two grown sons that I raised alone. My youngest was a holy terror and the oldest was great. Both made it through college with top grades. I spanked them both , and especially my youngest. I am a huge opponent to spanking now. I actually went back and talked to both of my sons and apologized for ever laying a hand on them as my mother and father did me. Has your experience changed your heart and views on this subject.

  Controlling emotions when it come to JW's

  wow i have a lot of anger hidden inside for the jw organization.

  just had a conversation with a good friend and jw coworker.

  j has 2 sisters that are disfellowshipped and he has been working on getting reinstated himself.

  Personally I enjoy putting the head phones in, helmet on, and opening the throttle to clear the frustration of wanting to pummel someone.

  Wow I have a lot of anger hidden inside for the JW organization. Just had a conversation with a good friend and JW coworker. J has 2 sisters that are disfellowshipped and he has been working on getting reinstated himself. He made the statement that shunning is just taken overboard by some and then said he doesnt assoiciate with his sisters so as to show them he does not agree with their life style and choices. He said that my folks where wrong in turning their backs on me when they visited the International convention in Arlington. I asked him how what he is doing is any different then what they did to me. He said I wasn't disfellowshipped so he could talk to me. I said he wasn't suppose to talk to opostates and he didnt even know what I was talking about. By having that conversation he should have classified me as an opostate. Talking about a blind eye. Felt the emotions coming to the surface and struggled to keep them under control so I could make valid points to him. I dont think I succeeded. I would think anger is a stage in all this eye opening.

  i thought to give a more comprehensive summary, however this pretty well sums up the entire wasted day.. stand and sing.. prayer thanking the gb.. only jw's will survive "the end".. do more.

  more than one thing for me, but i have learned to enjoy festivals, and just enjoying free time.

  it's not that the org wouldn't allow it, i just felt i shouldn't.

  there are others, of course, and i really have been happier and good things have come my way since i left.

  I work with 4 JW's from cuba who are really great people. Just bigtime delusional! It is a reminder everytime I ask J (one of the cubans) to go riding with my buds and he says he has to go to the meetings. Sure would screw Thursday night bike night if I was still delusional myself.

  A particularly fat and ugly woman walks into a pet store to buy her pit bull some dog food. She passes a huge parrot on an open stand as she walks down the dog food isle. As she is looking through the dog food brands she hears a PsssssT……then another Psssst... behind her. She looks around and seeing the parrot nodding his head at her, asks in an irritated voice…What? The parrot looks at her and says in his scratchy voice. “Boy your ugllllly!’ She disregards him and goes back to shopping for her dog food. Pretty soon she hears another Psssst!..... and Psssssst! Again and again very persistent. What?!... she says as she turns around? You’re DOG ugly the parrot says in his thin scratchy voice. Well I never the lady says as she steps back in disbelief. She looks up the manager and explains that the bird is harassing her and begins explaining what he said. The manager explains that he received the bird from some college students and they taught him some bad language but he had a way to keep him from verbally abusing his customers. He walks over to the parrot who immediately starts shying away. Taking a rolled up newspaper he begins wailing the bird with feathers flying everywhere. Finishing he walks over to the lady and say he won’t be bothering her any longer. She picks up her dog food and the whole time the parrot is ruffling his destroyed feathers and not saying a word. She smiles as she walks out the building but just as she starts out she hears a PSSSSSSST in a whisper. She looks back at the parrot just as he says…….YOU knowwwwwwwwwwww in his little scratchy voice.
