And that's the problem with you... to gues, to allude, to assume before asking, or having accurate information.. you are presenting statistics about different countries.. Great! But they don't prove that Religion is a dominant factor why people has Psychiatric disorders.. in your previous post you did indeed presented that opinion.. But again you are not specialized in PD, again, it is too complex, and this work has to be done by specialized doctors..in PD, thus I will forgive your ignorance, and I think other well thinking members too.

Oubliette: you think that statistics about PD from one nation are sufficcient to the psychiatric world to make such claims about JW's, or other religious people? who' is suggesting this? You are putting here some statistics about America, and then are making your own conclusions... I can understand blondie and other members who use their thinking abilities, that these conclusions are personal idea's, and never found in the Psychiatric Literature..
frankiespeakinn: I don't now if you are a JW, but the watch Tower you quoted is from 1963, and these instructions are not used anymore.. I know personal a JW who is a trained psychologist, and a lot of Jehovah Witnesses are going there to be threatened, with good results.. A view of them where encouraged by the CO, and very wise elders.. The organisation of JW is taking another direction about psychiatric disorders because they can not cured only by spiritual Assistance, and they are admitting it, and don't interfere anymore in these matters... despite the fact that a view here are using information about the elders book, or quoting Watch Tower literature.. These instructions are changed Now..

Good night from Europe, I agree with blondie, nobody of you has the credentials of being a psychiatrist, and are suggesting and alluding things based on articles you have found on internet, or somewhere else.. It must be noted that a psychiatric disorder it's a worldwide problem, and not only related to Religious people.. these kind of statements are not supported by the psychiatric world..more scientific and accurate research must made worldwide, and statistics must be presented by the psychiatric world, before I will accept these statements...

This was predicted by different members here, and in other websites..Spreading the word, and in the meantime searching to make money, to survive is always been a manner of thinking by the Watch Tower..(Think at Russell,), Now they have seen how profitable the Real estate market is they will make a long time stragety plan to survive, and going on the interner, wil help them to reach this goal..because they really don't know when the happenings written in the Bible will really have their fulfillment.. I think with the time it will be a religion like all the others..But it will take years...

tomorrow will be exactly 100 years since his historic announcment.. to commemorate this centennial occasion, i will gladly take bets in any amount of money that the world will not end tomorrow and that on friday, october 3rd, 2014 gmt, we will still all be here, for better or worse.. any die-hard jws interested in taking the other side of this friendly little wager?

Charles Taze Russel, was a fervent supporter of making calculations, like other predecessors, in when exactly the rapture of the annointed ones would begin. I personally think that he was right in understanding that churches in his times where wrong about different teachings like to pray and adore idols, the infallibility of the pope... But he made a great mistake in interpreting the scriptures about the end Time trough a framework of abstract calculations. and when the world war started it was only a coincidence, because there was no rapture of annointed ones.. and so will it be on the second October of 2014,.. But you will find JW org, an organisation who will adapt themself within the years with their teachings at our society in wich we are living..like the Catholic Church..

depression or other Psychiatric disorders is a phenomenon, that is not only related, to cults, or Religions. It's a very complex issue, there are a lot of factors involved, before making some statements.. But I am glad to hear that you searched proffesional help..And I am sure they will help you a lot..
Oubliette: this is very true: I have seen a video on you Tube, how elders are suggested to handle with depression issue: I made a critical analyze, and my conclusion was that The leadership of the JW's has good intentions, but are not trained in handle with Psychiatric disorders. the best thing they can do, and that what I missed in that video, is that nobody of the elders encouraged the woman that was thinking at suicide, to search proffesional help. Thus it is important to understand that proffessional help, and having good friends, is the firs and important step to do.. and remember: Elders are not Psychiatrist..Thus be prudent, and analyse in a critical way their suggestions about Psychiatric disorders..
