  my house might burn down.

  but i live in rancho cucamonga california where there is a massive fire burning out of control right now.

  so i am home from work, hanging out with my lap top.

  thats a terriable feeling...know all to well what it is like to lose everything in a fire...we did....except we had no forwarning..No insurance either....I was very thankful that my family and myself were safe though.We were not home at the time.....it started with a electrical outlet over heating with a brand new fan running on it.....The funny thing was though,not one JWS came to our rescue...they started a donation gathering for us and it was stared by the united church....they were the most kindest people I ever met.........anyways chev,you need a place to stay...my home is welcomed for you.....( you would just have to stay in Canada) Its not that bad here..lol....take care and hopefully you need not have to leave your home.........

  The Only Way to Improve Your Life is by Studying with JWs!

  this statement appears to be absolute truth if you were to ask any one of jehovah's witnesses to answer the question: who can one turn to for help in making positive changes in their life?

  the literature that they read is peppered with examples of people who once were violent or drug addicted or had other addictions such as alcohol or gambling and are now one of jehovah's witnesses.

  first, do you believe that one can only make a change by studying the bible with jws?

  i have.....got a set of gold-plated silverware for daughter and s-i-l (they already know, but don't know about individual gifts...heheheh)....jeans for my g/daughters and some karaoke cd's in the planning....don't know yet what i'll get for ol' crabby pants...(the ex that i'm watching over cause he's physically/mentally challenged from stroke)..... i like to get this shtuff outta the way early....can't stand that last minute hysteria...so..... how're yall doing with your plans for christmas?.

  Just bought my boys new electric guitars for x-mas.My oldest boy got a new bass guitar and my yougest just a plain electric.Yes, we have to remorgage the house for them..lol....but it is well worth, seeing their face x-mas morning.Guess I try to make up for what I didnt have....I love x-mas, more then the kids I think......I am just like a kid x-mas morning...

  just got back from a few days in canada.

  our first trip to nova scotia to see relatives who live in bear river.

  quite laid back, with much peace, quiet, starry skies, and lovely surroundings and unusually warm weather.. bear river is like going back in time about thirty years.

  I found God Today (not fluff)

  perhaps the oddest thing i've looked forward to doing for years is finding and activating my god spot in my brain.

  my wish finally came true today.

  if anyone reading this isn't aware of what a "god spot" is i would say in a nutshell that it is neurological response to magnetically stimulating the brain where many people feel "god like" experiences and describe either unusual illusions or intense religious feelings.

  Why do the watchtower studies have no doctrine anymore?

  over the last few years, it has become apparent that the teachings which were popular in the 80s, the ones that have not changed (unlike the generation of 1914), are no longer being mentioned in the study articles.. teachings like the 1200 days, the gentile times, even 1914 is not referenced with 607bce anymore.

  it seems as if each article is nothing more than a lesson, how can we do more, give more, donate more etc.. it seems that only their books contain the doctrine they expound, the watchtower has no doctrine.. what happened to the articles on hellfire, immortality of the soul, condition of the dead?

  these are never mentioned in wt articles.. the quality of the articles is so dumb it's laughable.

  when i first went here, i just wanted to see what people were saying about a religion that had been a big part of my life, and i found support.

  i had been so upset at myself for letting the religion get to me...for it being something i left physically, but not mentally and emotionally.

  for those who have not met me my name is michelle.

  (aka.mortons68)thank-you walter for the post earlyer last week for welcoming me.i have been wanting to do a post to introduce myself,but have not had the guts to tell my story.for one,i am very new to the computer , two, i was not sure about opening my life to complete strangers,and three ,my spelling and grammer is not that great at all.

  i remember how halloween was such a big deal for all the witnesses.

  i mean, certainly you couldn't stay home, could you?

  you couldn't hand out candy, and if you were home, you might get "tricked.

  I guess this was one night I looked forward to has a kid.That was the big event of the year.We got to go out for supper to Burgar King,then head out to the bowling ally.We would play 4-5 games of bowling and had a blast.Of course we would also get free treats from the bowling ally.(thats what they were handing out to all the tricker treaters) We were not dressed up,but I think they felt sorry for us.Mom and dad would sit there with there cocktails in hand and we enjoyed the night.It was the only time of the year, I have a good remembrance of growing up in the "troof"
