this is the first time i have posted here in a long time.
let me me say hi to everybody the new comers and the people here i could never forget ;) (james, larc, ect...).
it seems i have been a member here for nearly 2 years now and alot has changed in this short space of time.. so has anything major happened in the jw world?
my jw buddy just called me with some "fun" news.
they had the co last week, and of course dave and i were part of the elder's meeting agenda.
my friend has just had a conversation with one of the elders, who told her about it because it involved her.
It flippen well looks good on them Mulan.....I bet you and hubby had a good laugh over that one....I do agree with some though...be careful when that tree goes up.....They are the type that would follow you around Wal-mart to see if your buying any santa stuff........with their little spy cams oi their watchs.........lol.....

is it just me, or does the dub lifestyle encourage astounding degrees of laziness?
we're expected to sit quietly at the meetings and be spoon feed repititious information without thinking for ourselves.
dubs are discouraged from making any decisions without the counsel or approval of the society.
i have been travelling this week for my company.. i was due to fly from nashville to newark through chicago today, but the flight was oversold.
the gate agents were begging for anybody to take a later flight to chicago, offering incentives, but since delaying my connection would have brought me in way too late, i wasn't interested.. then they announce that those of us who are flying to newark could instead fly to la guardia (new york city), with an upgrade to first class and a three hundred dollar travel voucher.
sold!
.
we have all fantasized about never having been jw's, how would your life of been different (better or worse) if your family(parents) would of never joined the jw's.. hypothetical question i know.
but fun to think about it.. for me, i might of actually had a family, instead of being ignored and critized for not going to meetings.. for my family, it goes back to my grandmother (who is now 100), who started the crap line going.
Like sns, I know I would have dated in high school....the prom would have been a highlite...
Would have had great teenager birthdays.....16 is the one I dreamed about
would have been able to talk openly about sex with mom and dad....
would have been able to have sleep over as kids..and stay up all night watching scary movies.....( and sleep in on sunday morning)
would have played all kinds of sports......I love hockey..........
would have been on the debating team in high school.............
would have gone to parties has a teenager and call for a ride home if I had to much to drink or felt I was any kind of trouble......
would have, could have, should have is all but a big dream to me........sad,but oh so true.....

g'day god dodgers,
sitting, reading on the beach the other day, letting the wavelets wash my feet, a small boat came ashore just a few oar lengths to my starboard.
thence an elderly couple commenced heaving their aluminium dingy ashore.
my mother told me that last night's meeting was about how we all simply have to do more.
if we are asked to work on a saturday, we should know that saturday morning belongs to jehovah and that the automatic answer simply is "no, that time is set aside for jehovah.
" he said our congregation is down to 60 something publishers and we simply just can't afford to lose anymore..... he gave an example of a boy and his dad that were out hunting.
