The $20 Bill
by Amazing1914 inthis note bears the image of andrew jackson, 7th president of the us, 1829-1837. as president, he got congress to pass a law that evicted all native indian tribes from all territory east of the mississippi river to the west.
the cherokee tribe living in the state of georgia chose to file suit against the us government instead of going on the war path.
the case went all the way to the us supreme court.

Why don't JW's Fast ????
by Why Georgia in.
there are references in the bible to jesus fasting and prayfully meditating.. so my question then is why don't jehovahs witnesses as an organization ask their members to fast?.
why don't you ever hear about fasting at the kh?.

Yes...they increase the speed with which women find you, meet and get to know you, and then crush your souls.

Beatles or Rolling Stones Fan, which were/are you?
by eyeslice inperhaps you have to be one of those who grew up in the 60's to really appreciate this thread, but then my kids love 60's music too.
who did you think were the best, the beatles or the rolling stones?
is there a bit of a psychological angle here too?

It's been established by the thread that these two bands are as pure as rock gets...my question (and attempted thread theft) is, what band NOW is closest to old school rock?

As a Creek Indian (Whose people were run out of Birmingham and Knoxville on Andy Jack's order), I find the idea of someone who ignored and defied his consitutional duty venerated on the most-used bill in american currency quite off-putting...
After Reagan died, they wanted to put him on a bill, and the $20 was considered off limits because Jackson was a Democrat (although if he ran today, neither party would claim him).
I don't think Democrats would have a problem with Martin Luther King on the $20, however. That's my pick.

Beatles get the edge. Yeah, the Stones are still around, and probably are better musicians, but outside of Elvis, there insn't another act that has had a greater singular impact on popular music.
NOBODY mentioning Jimi Hendrix? for shame...
