Reading a new book - "Face your Fear" by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach...
by AK - Jeff inhas anyone read it?
or any thought on his concepts here?.
the basic thought is that fear [a negative driving force] will motivate us from the outside, but it is better to turn to positive inward drives to get life fulfillment.. his thought is that 'fear of being insignificant' is the primary drive in society [primarily western society i think].. i could not help but see all the connections to jdub thinking while reading it.

(((Leeha)))
I've found that relationships can take on another sort of chemistry as it advances. anyone can formulate articulate thoughts in text, but talking on the phone, much less in person, shows several different sides.
If you can adjust or enjoy that change, things look good.

I vote.
I gamble.
I date women that I actually have something real in common with.
I can cuss with relative impunity.
I look forward to going to my church.
I do little things to try to make a difference, not behave like a misanthrope because "It's all going to end anyway."
I give christmas presents.
among other stuff.

Southeastern Oklahoma's mountains
by Junction-Guy inin the southeastern section of oklahoma there lies the ouachita mountains and the winding stair mountains, these mountains are absolutely gorgeous and basically undisovered to the tourist crowds.
there is a 54 mile road called the talimena scenic drive and it follows the mountaintop and has numerous overlookswe drove through there last year on the way back from the dallas apostafest, and were really impressed.
this year we will try drive through there again.

And this one...after a drama one year...
"Spiritual Heritage"
It was the theme of a drama at one of my last DCs...and my wife at the time scooped it up.
"I really think you don't respect your spiritual heritage..." she worried one day.
I now was getting counseled (another JW word) from a drama? and a bad one, at that? That was a "click" in my mind that I was on the way out. (the same way some women have "clicks" as they begin to realize that they're feminists.)
Bad part is, she still holds on to it...At least I don't have to hear it leveled at me anymore.

What God has yoked together, let no man put asunder
by JustTickledPink inin some religious marriage ceremonies, they recite the scripture,.
"let the two become one flesh, what god has yoked together let no man put asunder".
i was thinking of the terry shaivo case today and thinking if you take marriage vows seriously then your spouse always would have guardianship and rights to you considering you both are one flesh.. how can you reconcile honoring those vows and trying to dissolve "what god has yoked together".
