“steve2”: “An old JW family friend once declared that self-abuse is sin because your seed is wasted. I told him I was not sinning because I saved mine in a jar.”
LOL!!!
i can't believe they came out with this.... question from readers: should a youth who struggles with masturbation sleep with a pillow?.
you young people know that it is wise to make such restrictions, especially during "the bloom of youth.
" (1 corinthians 7:36).

if somebody knocks on your door and wants to enter your home (for whatever reason) you are faced with a decision process based, in part, on your ability to suss out why you do or do not allow entrance.. agreed?example:.
"i'm being stalked by a madman--please let me hide inside" would be a strong emotional reason.
""i'm with a group of jehovah's witnesses, we want to brainwash you.
TO “resolute Bandicoot”:
Thank you for your pic (at the bottom of page 3 herein) outlining the history of Muslim aggression preceding the Christian crusades beginning in 1095 A.D. Your point is well taken.
My point is that the current Muslim refugee crisis in Myanmar and Syria is one of general humanitarian consideration, regardless of any old historical events. The Muslim, as well as the Mexican, refugees are ordinary people – men, women, and children – who are simply trying to escape their own personal “shitholes” in the countries of their recent origin. These refugees should be considered for emergency refuge on a case-by-case basis. I.e., these people who are holding a machine gun in their hands versus holding a baby in their arms should be considered accordingly, based on humanitarian merit as well as risk assessment.
At the end of the day, it is our responsibility toward compassion and ultruism which defines us and distinguishes us as people of character.

Imagine for a moment that you own a little log cabin somewhere up north in the state of Alaska. One day, while you weren’t home, a couple of young hikers who were lost, starving, and nearly freezing to death come across your cabin. One of them breaks a window by the door to let him and his friend enter for some shelter from the cold wind. They eat a couple of cookies they find, and maybe even start a little fire in a wood-burning stove. But once they have been revived, they clean up after themselves and even leave a few dollars on the kitchen table for their troubles. Now, who would even consider having them arrested and prosecuted if they have even one empathetic bone in their body? If anything, you, as the owner of that cabin, would no doubt readily offer to make and serve them at least some chicken noodle soup and peanut butter sandwiches to ensure their complete revival.
You have to be careful here about treating desperate (“illegal”) immigrants as some kind of vermin to be quickly disposed of. Don’t forget that there are many such people – families, including women and children – who, through no fault of their own, are simply trying to escape a sociopolitical environment which is toxic and morbidly dangerous to their survival. For example: there are people (families) from Mexico having to escape from the extremely brutal violence of the powerful drug cartels; there are people (families) trying to escape from the oppressive communist regime in Cuba; and then you also have people (families) in abject desperation trying to flee from countries (“shithole countries,” as so elegantly described by President Donald Trump) which are ignominiously plagued by wars and civil strife – “ethnic cleansing” – such as the Rohingya from Myanmar or the Muslims in Syria.
Now, just put yourself in the place of such poor refugees desperately trying to flee brutal and inhumane persecution. Imagine that it is YOUR family forced to undergo such a nightmarish scenario. Just imagine that for a second.
“LoveUniHateExams”: “Throughout history most, if not all, ethnic groups colonised other areas.”
Well, let’s not forget about the Christian crusades and the Catholic inquisition. Our “kind” here in the western civilization has certainly not been immune to such evils.
hi to all the board, .
i am confused about something that i read on this board.
it was the subject about the building and development of new kingdom halls.
Well, they say that there are two kinds of work: hard work, and smart work.
The WTS does the “smart” (financially efficient) “work,” while the vast throngs of rank-and-file members do the hard work (pounding the pavement for zillions of hours scouring the community for each convert).
The WTS will continue to pare down their monetary assets (Kingdom Halls) while consolidating (maximizing) their corporate assets.
In a sense, the WTS are like Donald Trump and his New York skyline assets: Grow, grow, grow, and then, when the time is right, sell, sell, sell (cash in).
I guess it takes one cold-hearted tycoon (opportunist) to be able to know another.
do you remember being with a group of witnesses looking at some cute little animal and everyone saying, "oooh!
isn't jehovah sooo wooooonderful!!!
" of course, most other christians are just as prone to utter such insipid, sugary and idiotic expressions.. the cats and dogs that we often dote on are the result of hundreds of years of breeding out undesirable traits, but their original ancestors survived by catching and tearing to pieces cute, cuddly little animals who are stricken with terror as they are hunted.
“fulltimestudent”: “Just recall how he gives ‘food’ to lions.”
Exactly.
It makes you wonder when the Bible states that supposedly before the “original sin” in the garden of Eden, and then after Christ’s Thousand Year Reign, even none of the animals did, or will do, any “harm nor cause any ruin in all my holy mountain.” (Isaiah 65:25)
It’s so obvious to anyone with a thumbnail of a brain that when you look at all those menacing, razor-sharp teeth of the countless varieties of fish and sharks, not to mention all the mammals (i.e., lions!), those teeth are for catching – and killing – prey.
In this regard, either God is Walt Disney, or the logical, scientific processes of evolution are actually involved here.
i was walking out of the store and i passed a former jw associate of 20+ years.
"keith"he was an elder, got df'd, lost his wife, got reinstated and last i heard started pioneering!so i see him as i'm walking to my parking spot.. i stop, look him straight in the face and yell from 20 feet away, "you're in a cult.
you're in a cult, dude!".
“EverApostate”: “May be striking up a conversation about the various WT cover ups as well as to prove to them that I am happier now than as a JW before.”
That’s a good idea to at least let JWs know why you chose to leave the organization (cult).
It’s kind of like spanking a dog that has chewed up your books. Such discipline must be done immediately after the misdeed in order for the dog to connect it with its act so as to know exactly what it did wrong.
Similarly, it’s advantageous to divulge to JWs you happen to meet exactly why you left the cult so that they will know that there is, in fact, a very valid and logical reason.
i am doing a very extensive document, it is a work in progress, that details how to know, just using a list of eclipses in the 6th and 7th century bce, excel, and knowing how to read lunar eclipse graphs and maps, that jerusalem fell in 587 b.c.e., and not 607 b.c.e.
as the watchtower states.currently it is in spanish, but i intend to translate it to english later.for those who speak spanish, here it is:.

. . . . But, that would invalidate the 1914 CE date . . . . . . . . Just kidding!
Actually, you can arrive at the 1914 CE date . . . . . . . . By stretching everything by about 20 years!
because he was shunned by his customers?.
“John Davis”: “So in this case if another member of the congregation felt their freedom of speech right was being violated , that person would have to file the claim, not Mr Walls. Mr Walls would assist or even pay for it but he can't initiate the claim for that person.”
I don’t think that you understand. It is Mr. Randy Wall himself who is seeking legal remedy for the tangible losses to his real estate business arising from the prohibition by the congregation of any kind of contact between Mr. Wall and his clientele – which clientele happens to be coerced and blackmailed by the JW congregation into absolute shunning of Mr. Wall, even to the extent of cutting legal business proceedings.
i was on the bus this morning and this thought came up while i was playing candy crush.
happy baptism birthday to me.
i was a mere child when baptized.
You know, I thought that I would have definitely have been divinely executed by Jehovah by at least the early 1990s.
I was born in 1996 and baptized around 1982.
Now, however, after thoroughly researching TTATT, I have obviously come to realize that what I was baptized into was anything but “the truth.”
My baptism, like so many other JWs, was coerced in that it was the expectation of my parents. Saying “no” is never a viable option for JW children.
So, what does JW baptism really mean for anyone? Well, not much according to the current pertinent statistics!
