  my husband and i were both born ins.

  i left in 2009, and he followed me out a bit later.

  we were one of those couples who followed the script, married young and ended up having nothing in common other than the religion.

  It's easy for men, who may be making good salaries and never had to raise kids full time, much less raise kids and work fulltime, to say just leave.

  Lisa is right, you have to make the right decision for you and the children. Be aware that what can seem like a good decision at the time, can have so many unforseen cibsequences. All I am saying is really, really think this through. Look at what kind of quality of life and environment there will be for you and your children. You'll be choosing a different lifestyle and family culture.

  Unless he is falling down, stinking drunk, driving drunk with the kids in the car, beating on you guys and yelling at you when he is drunk, depriving you of food, necessities and medical care, it might be better to live in the same home, but have an understanding. I am still hollow inside from my dad leaving our home when I was 9. Our family was disentigrated by my parent's divorce. Having Dad around would have kept my mother happier and we would not have felt abandoned and unimportant to him. We kids are still hurting and we are all over 50. My oldest brother dropped out of his senior year in high school with straight A's after my parent's divorce. He backpacked and hitchhiked all over the USA and he died at 22, feeling very lost and wandering.

  There are situations where divorce is necessary though: sexual abuse being one reason.

  Are you sure you want to do this? Unless there is severe neglect, drug or severe alcohol abuse or physical or abuse, think very twice about doing this while you have kids in the home.

  My ex and I separated when my son was 16. It proved disasterous for him. This is an understatement.

  What would I do differently? Go back in time to my stay at home mom status. I'd go to school while the kids were at school. Once they were both over 18, I'd have gone to work and saved, saved, saved money.

  Posters do you know of any cases where a devout JW was DF'd for Lesbianism?

  i think this is a hush hush topic among jws but i remember years ago at an assembly i saw two sisters(i am only assuming they were jws they could have been studies or relatives of jws) walking arm and arm like a married couple.

  some of the jws looked at them like they had horns.

  some of the jws moms were covering their small children's eyes and those two women were stared at like they had the plague.

  I had a friend who had a beautiful, vivacious, middle-aged mother. She was Greek in heritage, with dark hair and big dark eyes, aging very gracefully. She was full of life and joy, the kind who had the entire Greyhound bus load singing songs on her trip from San Diego to Andrews, Texas. She had been a pioneer, if I remember correctly, with an elder husband and wonderfully raised grown up kids and a couple of grandkids.

  Darned if one day my friend didn't confess that her mother had been disfellowshipped. She explained that her mom had fallen in love with her lady Bible student and moved out of her home and into the student's home. Wow.

  A cute story about my friend's mother. Back in the 1950s, she was pregnant. She was standing on a street corner in San Diego, when a car slowed down and a man said, "Awwww, I know what you've been doing!!!" My friend said her mother stood there and cried, she was so embarrassed. Remember, it was during the 1950s that Lucille Ball was not allowed to say she was pregnant on the I Love Lucy show.

  has anybody else noticed all the jws signage is in all caps and ussually always in the same font?

  it makes them look stupid and uneducated.

  is this their attempt at creating a sense of unity?

  I think it was an accident. How could anyone plot Diana's driver crashing into a bridge post, her not wearing a seat belt and dying from the crash? Who of us, even sober, would go speeding through a tunnel in a car? It would be akin to a death wish.

  How do we set up a "Used New Bike Fund" for Terry?

  is there any way we can try to start a crowd-fund to help terry get some wheels quicker than he currently can?

  with craigslist and a couple of bucks from a few members we can help terry get moving.

  does anyone have any ideas how we can do a "theists for terry" bike fund raiser and challenge the atheists to a bucket-head challenge?

  I have the cash to buy a bike and I want one, just have had a tough time finding one I can safely mount and dismount, since I am 55 and have short legs. When I was 16, I had a bike accident and broke my leg in three places. I am not eager to do that again.
