I hope so. Sounds like you will. I often dream of living abroad. I did live in Hawaii for nine months which is almost like living abroad. I have not visited the British Isles. I hear Ireland is beautiful and that the economy is actually picking up there. But the kids and grandkids are here.

We found the summers in Calgary to be lovely - very hot but not as humid as here in the UK. Of course, we're terrified of the winters

That's right, England is so far north that you have very mild summers compared to North America. I don't blame you for being terrified of the winters. Have a good snowblower and the right clothes. A lot of Southwestern Michiganders like to go to Gulf Shores, Alabama, just across the bay from my hometown Mobile, for the winter. They summer up here and winter down there. Ah, what you can do when you have the money. Sigh.

Yes, it's our long-term goal.We're just working on the finances now (it's a dear do!)
Well, that's just cool. Then you can drive down to the USA to visit us all. I live near Canada. People joke and say Michigan: USA's last defense against Canada. As if those nice people are ever going to be a threat to anyone much less us. One thing: bring very warm clothes! It's cold up here. I'm a southern girl. I'm from the Gulf coast, almost Florida, where it's very mild during the winter. Canada is nice during the summer though. I've never been but I figure if Michigan has such mild summers then Canada's must be milder.

i saw the strangest movie last night.
a 1997 subtitled japanese movie called parasite eve.
it was science fiction.

up until a few years ago......every dec. km had a part encouraging everyone to go in the ministry on the holidays.......christmas day, etc.. no one ever got too excited about it in our cong.
.........it was pretty much a joke to everyone even when commenting on it during the meeting part.. that no longer seems to be the case..........haven't seen any parts like this for a few years now......i guess they've given up completely.. the meeting part usually included some "fine experiences"......but i have heard exactly the opposite from some who actually tried it one time.. have any of you ever went in service on christmas day?
No. I was one of the deadbeats who took my family to the movies and Waffle House to eat afterwards ( these were the only things open on Christmas ). I would have felt I was being obnoxious to knock on doors during Christmas. We liked having a day off and to spend it together.

It reminds me of the bracelet I almost bought my daughter for Christmas today. It's very nice. I agree that it is more pleasing to the eye than the severed head. You made the right choice.

I hope you didn't misunderstand me. I think the actress is lovely. I am bewildered by the comment about her being small breasted. I am even more bewildered that the comment came from a woman. You expect the occasional man to make a comment like this but it's sad to hear a woman make this kind of comment. Maybe the commentor has been influenced by similar comments? Little girls have no breast development yet they can be quite beautiful. Why is it that when they become teenagers it suddenly takes away from their beauty for them to have smaller breasts? This is my point. If women didn't have this kind of pressure on them to conform to someone else's distorted standard of beauty, maybe they wouldn't get ugly breast implants or starve themselves to try to force their bodies to fit that distorted standard.
Most Asian women are naturally slendor. Very fortunate for them that they don't have to starve to stay close to their personal ideal body weight. I do think she looks awfully thin as Gretchen does. If it's her natural weight though then very good for her.
I wonder if Japanese men are as obsessed with breast size as Americans seem to be.

the other day dad was telling me about how the wts used to say that the personality was in the blood.
today mom brought home the latest magazines (didn't look at the date) and in the "in our next issue" box there is an article asking if our blood type determines our personality.
maybe they're going to revisit the issue, i understand they never retracted their previous view on the subject.
Thanks for sharing that information FHN. I'm saddened to read that because of previous mix-ups many years ago, as a result because of the blood sensitivity, it has affected your children.
Thank you, Rayzor, it's a shadow we will live with the rest of our lives. It's more than nice that you understand. I have to live with the knowledge that if I had not been a JW my children might have been treated for RH hemolitic disease much earlier and been spared the resulting disabilities and pain. I feel deep regret about it, but what can I do? They don't hold it against me. My son told me the other day when I apologized that they never had Christmas, "Mom, you apologize to your children for beating, molesting or mistreating them. You don't apologize for choosing a ruthless religion in innocence."

I do and say silly things that "cool" people wouldn't. like I fart on my loved ones and laugh for a good ten minutes. hehe but I am so very proud of my weirdness :)
Okay well maybe I stand corrected, JW. I would think you are more weird than dork but then I am very drawn to a certain kind of weird person. As I always say, when I was growing up my family was the Addams Family of the neighborhood. Kids used to look at me and say, "You're weird." At the time I didn't understand that I should have taken it as a compliment.
