The Kingdom Hall I went to in Baton Rouge, LA, La Belaire congregation, it was a former church.
These days I wonder if they brick over the windows so the church looks like a mini fortress.

How do you guys feel during the holidays?
by Joliette inthis is a very lonely time of year for me i admit it.
i'm suppose to be going over my aunties house wednesday after work.
but going to christmas/holiday parties and get togethers, i still kinda feel out of place.. i really wish i grew up celebrating the holidays more.

With holidays, it's all a matter of perspective. Some cultures look for any reason to celebrate and to be festive. It helps life to be worth living to have something to look forward to, regularly. Think about how gray and dismal the long winter months can be. Having monthly celebrations to look forward to gets a lot of us through them. If you don't celebrate Christmas, then celebrate something else that day. In the USA, most of us get the day off. Throw a dinner party for goodness sake.

how can you leave god's organization to celebrate the work of satan the devil?
it just goes to show you how jehovah's christian witnesses are correct about how persons will leave the truth for their own selfish desires.. first off, christmas is a pagan holiday and it proves no spirit with the almighty jehovah and his son, the christ.

Christmas is wrong. You betcha and I love it. I love the music, I love the food, I love the pretty decorations and lying to little kids about Santa Claus.
I know you're trolling, but just in case you're serious: I did leave the cult for selfish reasons. I'll admit it. I was tired of all that guilt and pressure making my family and me sick and depressed. Why, we were under so much damn pressure to do more, do more, DO MORE!!!, that our immune systems just got up and went. Yes sir, I'm selfish. With the lack of education, good jobs and health insurance, I couldn't afford another bankruptcy due to all the built up and unpaid medical bills. I wanted to go a year without strep throat running in three week cycles for the entire year. I'm selfish, you're right. I hate taking prozac so I left so I don't have to anymore. I'm SELFISH. I love feeling healthy and having the energy to live my life rather than my life living me. My kids are grown up and they celebrate Christmas and have almost forgiven me for depriving them of a normal, happy childhood. I'm selfish because I like being forgiven. I wasn't raised in that miserable, cold, heartless, twisted cult and I am very glad to go back to my LIFE. Yes, call me selfish. I take it as a high compliment, coming from you.

Can anyone help me trouble-shoot YouTube?
by Island Man intoday i notice that youtube videos aren't playing most of the time.
the youtube page loads fine but the videos mostly don't start at all when i play them, remaining in a perpetual initializing phase that ends with a message saying an error occurred and the video cannot be played at this time or something like that.
in some cases the video does start after a very long delay - exceeding 2 minutes - of the circular, strobing, initializing thingy.

Turn off all of your browsers and restart your computer. Sometimes your connection is just gonna be slow and your videos will not stream. Fortunately, if you have a high enough speed internet, that won't happen often.
