  This cult can tell you EVERYTHING to do in your life regarding childbearing, marriage, the sexual do's and don'ts of the sex you enjoy in marriage, the type of home you live in and the car you drive, your educational choices (the list goes on and on). So let me get this straight...they can micro manage your life on EVERYTHING but it's not their responsibility to protect the children from sexual abuse.

  Chris Wilson of Circles UK, which helps released offenders, also rejects the idea that paedophilia is a sexual orientation: "The roots of that desire for sex with a child lie in dysfunctional psychological issues to do with power, control, anger, emotional loneliness, isolation."

  a word to jehovahs witnesses: what is the basis for the authority the seven members of the governing body can claim in controlling the lives of eight million followers?

  the organisation they represent has never got one useful piece of information correct in one hundred and thirty five years... so why should they be believed?.

  Taking it a step further back, there is absolutely no Scriptural basis for the connection between the faithful & discreet slave parable and the so-called "annointed", let alone a connection betwen the parable and 7 old guys based in Brooklyn.

  when it comes to a simple matter of no longer believing the teachings of jw's, it appears to me that it's more common for the husband to make the first move to leave the religion.

  my fave was roy renouf - district overseer.

  always had time for me and seemed to keep thigs real.. heard that on a zone vist he told the governing body the branch was told old and grumpy or something like that!.

  Just my fourpennyworth, but when I decided to leave my then wife had a blue fit. A few months later she ran off with a sailor and the matter was taken care of by her getting disfellowshipped.
