REAL Community service now allowed?
by ab.ortega inat watchtowers website there is an undated article under "helping the community" relating how in 2015, jw's from russia participated in the 'springtime beautification of the city'.
it is not stated but more than likely this had to do with preparations for some assembly or something.
a group of witness going out to clean the community just for goodwill - i don't see it happening.

Sychelles Island crash proved you can't land a plane on water!
by Witness 007 ini was an advocate of the idea that a sea landing is beyond impossible for any pilot.
some years ago terrorists hijack a plane in africa and demand to be flown to australia.
the pilot runs out of fuel at the sychelles islands and ditches in the sea with most passengers dead or drowned.

It was never, ever, a warning work, was it?
by jambon1 inmost witnesses i knew were exteeemly reluctant to go out in the ministry.
but when they did, they were simply scraping by, eager to avoid conflict and just do their hour or so speaking to lonely old ladies or widowed old men.
placing magazines in a car group, doing route calls, plodding along in the utter boredom of their responsibility to get some time on a report by the last day of the month.. this was never a warning work.

It was certainly a warning work in the build up to 1975. The old adage re the burning house was used over and over when people objected to the frequency of witnesses calls.

Were Conventions, Asemblies and the Memorials boring to you?
by HereIgo inconventions always just seemed like more of a vacation to me than anything else, especially if you had to travel out of town for it, but definitely were exhausting especially toward the end of each day.
for some reason i didn't mind the special and circuit assemblies too much, probably because they seemed like more of a social event than anything else and only 1-2 days.
the memorial always was kind of boring to me.

Back in the day, conventions were just grope fests behind the cafeteria tent for us young bloods.
That was in the day when we all understood that you could only get disfellowshipped for full-blown sex. Anything else was naughty but OK.

Do JW's ever really grow up ?
by Phizzy ini ask the above because of my personal experience.
as a born-in i was naive, socially inept and had never really thought deeply about anything.. i was also unable to accept arguments based upon reason and facts.. just like a child.. it was only after freeing myself from the mind-control of the jw cult that i educated myself and matured as a person to being (almost) an adult.. jw's attitudes and their inability to debate in any meaningful way, (they could start by actually listening),means they have not grown up..

Cults impede maturation.
Drugs impede maturation.
There must be a connection..

Beards - September 2016 Watchtower
by Listener inthe issue of whether beards are acceptable or not is addressed in the september 2016 watchtower - well sort of.
it is as clear as mud as to whether they are allowed in places like australia, usa and britain.. 17. what are some factors that may affect whether a brother wears a beard?17 what about the propriety of brothers wearing a beard?
the mosaic law required men to wear a beard.

Beards are horrible anyway. They're concealing.

Jehovah's Witnesses ARE Christians, why do so many ex JW's deny this?
by nicolaou injehovah's witnesses accept jesus as christ, the son of god.
they try, in their own way, to live by his teachings and imitate him.
they pray, read the bible and meet together regularly for worship.. i won't minimise any of the harm and damage they cause but for the life of me, i can't see how anyone can credibly deny that they are christians.. why do so many former jws have a problem with this?

How can a cult be Christian?

Is Watchtower now loosening the bedroom rules?
by OneGenTwoGroups ini was at my assembly when this was discussed last week.
of course i hadn't prepared and i heard "no rules about limits", or at least i thought i did.. here's the direct quote from the watchtower study article.. "although the bible does not provide specific rules about the kinds and limits of love play that might be associated with natural sexual intimacy, it mentions displays of affection.
the watchtower (study edition) august 2016 : making christian marriage a success, paragraph 8.. what say you?.

It's simple. If you really love someone you want to kiss them all over. If they like being kissed in certain places more than others, then avoiding those places isn't loving them wholeheartedly and both partners will feel a sense of incompleteness.

Give her space and time. Put everything JW on the back burner and look after the woman you fell in love with.
Remind her of THAT.That's correct. Remember, your wife is programmed to respond in certain ways to certain ideas. She needs time for her subconscious mind to resolve a whole host of issues. If you confront her or try to push your own enlightenment, her mind will go into resist mode. Do your very best to avoid anything that might cause the fear reaction to kick in.
