Must be a dubbie. Popped in for a quick snipe and then got terrified he was cavorting with the demons and now wants OUT!

Just Got Dubbed..
by snugglebunny inso there i was earlier today, enjoying a spot of lunch in a pleasant little cafe whilst out shopping, when up came a fella i vaguely recognised from the dim and distant past just as i was tucking into my highland soup with bread roll and butter..
"i would never ignore you you know".. "eh?
what" i ventured wondering wtf is this all about.

I'm not trying to belittle your experience here, but I kind of wonder what people on this board be saying if he walked straight past you and said nothing. Perhaps damned if they do and damned if they don't would come to mind.
He didn't have to walk past me. He'd been sat at a table close to the exit and after he'd spoken to me returned to join his wife who was still seated there. His manner was somewhat didactic. I got the impression that he was looking for a response appropriate to a repentant wrongdoer. Having been happily married for 40 years + and having brought up several fine kids I doubt if I'd take kindly to someone finding fault with my life now.

Is that the first time a Dub has spoken to you in that almost 50 year stretch?
I live in the territory of my fathers old congregation and have done so for over 30 years. When I moved back here a number of elders came around to turn me back to Jehovah, unsuccessfully I might add. This fella was one of them.

So there I was earlier today, enjoying a spot of lunch in a pleasant little cafe whilst out shopping, when up came a fella I vaguely recognised from the dim and distant past just as I was tucking into my Highland soup with bread roll and butter.
"Hi!" He said. "I would never ignore you you know".
"Eh? What" I ventured wondering WTF is this all about. Then I remembered. He was a dub. And he had gone out of his way to seek me out to tell me that he wasn't ignoring me!
I mumbled something hoping that he'd just go away, and he repeated that he would never not speak to me. So weird. I got the boot at age 26 and now at 71 I'm supposed to be grateful that some dubby has acknowledged my existence.
Bloody ruined my soup it did.

Instructions For Merging Congregations S-67-E

it appears this replaces instructions for dissolving congregations s-67a-e 11/11..

I notice that one reason for a congregation to merge is a shortage of elder material.
My father, a need is greater, was sent to the West country where the Weston super Mare congregation had a shortage of elder material and had been in that state for many years. Incredibly, the congregation was huge by witness standards, almost 200 strong.

Were your English WT publications in the American "dialect"?
by compound complex ingreetings, friends:.
the opening query is presented, loosely, in the past tense, assuming that you are not currently a reader of watchtower publications.. not that i'm already rather certain of your reply, it's just that i would like to know if in your english-speaking country (or esl [english as second language]) the society deigned to tailor the publications to your spellings, expressions, idiomatic renderings, etc.
as you will read below, so-called american english is a dialect of english.. i found this online under american english vs. british english:.

The dramas , of course , were pretty silly.
Amen to that! My favourite:
Teenage son: "Hey Paw, I'm getting very worried about a masturbation problem." (entire stadium cringes).
Father, Brother Mature: "Maybe we should spend more time reading the Bible. What say we spend our Saturday afternoons doing just that together instead of you playing baseball?"
Teenage son: "That's just swell Paw. I'd much rather read the Bible than play baseball!"
What a wanker!

Ron Drage learnt ( UK English spelling--i checked ) it from his wife--she was american.
That would be Babs. She and Ron were chaperoned in their courting days by an older lady, Daisy.

Only the governing body can claim the title of arseholes!
Not even worthy of being called an arse half.

And "youths". A youth is a teenage bloke. Nothing to do with females.

Although the mags were printed in London, they occasionally contained American phrases that were incomprehensible to British ears. Apart from the spelling, the first that I recall is the WT stating "No way" when it disagreed with some course of action. No way? WTF does that mean? Ok, I know now.
Another one was "points up" supposedly meaning that something or other was highlighted.
Then there was the perils of "necking". We didn't know what it meant so were happy to carry on snogging..
