Slang or Terms Only Used by Bethelities
by new boy inthere are many terms used at bethel that might sound foreign to normal people.
there are many words or terms used at bethel that are unique only to their organization.
here are just a few of them.. “a jack” this is someone who is a slacker or just lazy.. “a pot licker” this term has been used for many years but its connotation is unclear.

Bethel Boy's Weekend = Glorious piss-up in bethel boy's home town, accompanied by other bethel boys who live too far away to go home for the weekend, usually held in the Juniper Berry, Southampton in the company of several young (and nubile) sisters all on the hunt for a bethel boy husband.

The fact that the word "organisation" doesn't appear in the Bible, let alone any reference to such a thing as "Jehovah's organisation".

Is it a Gun Issue or a Mental Illness Issue or Both?
by minimus inwe have had another shooting.
many are blaming trump and the republicans and the nra.. is it because of guns that there are so many massacres or could it be that these killers are mental?.
do you think guns should be removed from our society so that these atrocities never occur again?

Isn't it strange how mental illness hardly massacres anyone in The United Kingdom, Canada or Australia?

It's been a while. Haven't heard a P & S since '86. I think that was tied in with vultures circling over Cornwall..

The Dark-Skinned Early Briton.
by fulltimestudent ini'm sure many others noted in yesterday's news feeds, that scientists deciphering the dna of the skeleton remains of a man thought to have died some 10,000 years ago in the south of england, have presented him as:.
as blue-eyed (now that's quite english) but as dark skinned.
and, that's not very english, to the horror of many.. (link: https://news.nationalgeographic.com/2018/02/ancient-face-cheddar-man-reconstructed-dna-spd/ ).

It certainly doesn't look like a church. It looks like a warehouse. Not a very attractive building at all.
I always mix up warehouse and whorehouse.

Sleeping with a pillow between one's legs. Pregnant women, sciatica sufferers and those with back pain are recommended to do just that in order to attain a degree of comfort while trying to sleep.

Just recalling assemblies back in the 50's and 60's. Great emphasis was placed on overseas witness visitors wearing their national dress to the assembly sessions, often as a prelude to them appearing onstage to give their experiences from their respective countries.
I once sat next to a fella in full cowboy dress, apart from the gun.
Never saw anyone in Scottish dress though..
