Hey Snuggs..if you can remember a 58 assembly you must be even older than me.
..Just a boy giving it all away..
got my curious head on again.... i recall shouting "aye!
" in 1958 and again in 1963 and 1969. in the '63 resolution the wt put the un on notice in an assembly resolution worded something like "the nations further refused the surrender of their sovereignty to god's messianic kingdom by setting up ... the united nations, ... this international organization stands for world sovereignty by political men.
for years men without faith in god's kingdom have endeavored to get all people to worship this international image of human political sovereignty as the best hope for earthly peace and security, in fact, the last hope for humanity.

For years men without faith in God's kingdom have endeavored to get all people to worship this international image of human political sovereignty as the best hope for earthly peace and security, in fact, the last hope for humanity. To date 111 nations have given worship to this political image by becoming members of it. However, we, as witnesses of the Sovereign God Jehovah, will continue refusing to engage in such idolatrous worship."
And again in 1969 another resolution was passed at International assemblies, but what it was about escapes me. Probably someone or other being yet again put on notice that they were doomed. Sorry about that. I do recall however the tingle I felt at being a part of 40,000 people all shouting "Aye!" when the speaker requested us to do so after we declared our allegience to whatever it was. The downside was that after every resolution we'd have to go from door to door distributing copies of said resolution to baffled householders. ( I learned later that the excited tingle of shouting along with thousands of fellow believers could be easily re-experienced at a lively soccer game.)
So I was just wondering if the dubbies still do the resolution thingy? Anyone done it? What was the declaration about?

i have read last night the personal story of forum member "amazing", which he posted in 19 installments about 12 years ago.
there are so many things about his experience that i can relate with.
he seems to have vanished from this forum, for his last post as "amazing" was about 3 years ago.
He's on FB.
an easy example is beards.
i hear they're not unusual in places like europe, even on appointed brothers.
it also seems like they're becoming more accepted in more liberal parts of the states.
UK JW's have always been into pub culture.
i have not been here in a while, just trying to move on with my life all the while dealing with a very pimi brainwashed wife.. so the other day she started saying that we will have to go our own ways when things get worse with this world.
she has said this before because she believes that the government will turn on religion and the great and powerful wizards (guardians of doctrine g.o.d.
) will call everyone and tell them where to go.. thank god, (no pun intended) i have been out of the loop for such a long time.
Trump's already started on muslims..
today i made a classic christmas music station on pandora.
it's great being able to listen to this type of music at this time of the year without my conscience bothering me or in fear of being killed over itđ.

Cool! I've only just stopped celebrating the 25th anniversary of my 46th birthday!
this is my first post and hopefully i can get some advice and input.
i have been actively involved with the organization for a little over 10 years now.
i began studying in high school, got baptized and my family fortunately did not.
Best article yet IMHO: https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/34518/on-art-fading
the term jehovahâs witnesses sounded weird to me even when i was in that cult.
why does god need witnesses to prove his existence?
there is no need for anyone to create a movement called âsuns witnessesâ or âmoons witnessesâ â in order to prove its existence and glorify it, because the sun and moon are evident to every species on earth.
It's quite clever. And it helps with the imprinting. Turning your back on Jehovah's witnesses is only a microscopic step from turning your back on Jehovah himself.
