  Just recalling assemblies back in the 50's and 60's. Great emphasis was placed on overseas witness visitors wearing their national dress to the assembly sessions, often as a prelude to them appearing onstage to give their experiences from their respective countries.

  I once sat next to a fella in full cowboy dress, apart from the gun.

  Never saw anyone in Scottish dress though..

  I've made my thoughts and feelings on Cedars known many times...most of his videos are very good...some are not so...but all contain everything to do with him, his ego...I've said before he sees his activism as a means to get money without working....whilst I believe he enjoys activism I'm not convinced his number 1 goal is as sincere as many think out...he simply wants to be the number 1 guy for exjws.

  Some guys are natural leaders, while others, like Cedars, are aspiring leaders. Guys who are the real thing can spot these pseudo characters a mile off.

  i wanted to ask everyone here , what was your trigger to waking up ?

  i have been waking up for a long time , but in looking back it’s hard for me to look at one event and say “ ah ha “ , i think mine is like a slow leak - like a crack in a damn - and then hold on , because after that it’s just a flood of information.

  My two pennyworth: My wife started uni at the age of 38. She got her BA and later her MA. She eventually become a lecturer herself. She earned good money for 20 years and has now retired with a useful addition to her State pension. Thank God she went to uni!!!

  Fade..... or this?

  there are four ways to leave the 'truth'...... alive............you can be disfellowshiped...... then shunned, you can formally disassociate yourself and be shunned........ you can fade.

  the first two words belong to the society, fade on the other hand is defined as 'to gradually grow faint and disappear.

  ' 'walking away' has it's own negative connotation about one's commitments and relationships.. i think some folks feel uncomfortable with these words.

  Spot on. It's all about not entering into their world. There's so many language traps, so many buzz words and phrases that one can easily find oneself saying such stupid things as "I'm leaving the Truth!"

  You have to move away psychologically and verbally. If you are determined to get into dialogue, and this includes dialogue with yourself as well as JW's, Jehovah must become your Creator, disfellowshipping must become excommunication, the ministry work simply door-knocking or canvassing. There's many more that can be added, I'm sure.
