Memorial talk

it was a year ago we visited the kh at last.

yesterday evening when went to the memorial for family reasons.. the memorial talk was very slick.. there was no mention about the early christian times, no mention about the apostles and disciples.. it was a present day talk only.. the ties to the foundation of christianity were totally absent.

Instead of starting a new topic about the memorial which I was on, I can you a bit of my experience. Although I sat and daydreamed some of the time, I heard a lot of talking about the anointed and that they are really sure about their calling and so on. The speaker even managed to mention one person in the GB, I think it was Jackson, about an experience he had with someone asking if JW would go to heaven, The speaker almost had an admiring look on his face when talking about him. Our speaker by the way is a well know elder in my country, he has been CO and I think everyone knows him, wonder why our cong got him.

Anyway I thought: Shouldn`t this speech be more about Jesus and his sacrifice than about something else? It´s not getting through to me, I dont get feeling I am supposed to get (whatever that is). So I watched the movie Passion of the Christ when I came home, it gave me at least a hint of what Jesus pain must have been like, although I think its a bit excessive, but anyway...

One person partook btw.

It takes an hour to go the KH, and my dad is the only one having a driving license and car) And she also said I should socialize more with the persons in the cong. And then she asked if I am doing any ministry these days, I said yes sometimes I do that. Which was a lie... I hate lying, but the whole situtation makes me do it. What am I gonna do?! She doesnt know I am mentally out yet, dont know how to tell her either, what should I start with? Something about JW TV maybe, that its like any other TV evangelist stuff, I dont know.... Theres is so many things I could talk about that is wrong in the org, but I dont know how and when, and she will probably be mad at me. And an other question, how are you faders coping wiht the ministry thing? Are you lying about it? Honestly I am putting in fake hours in my monthly report... I dont really like it, but it just have to do for the time being.

Never seen such a site, it even got a countdown on it. Somewhat flashy in my opinion, like they want to show how modern JWs are these days or smething like that.

i think we've all noticed a ton of newbe's these past months.

one part of escaping or thinking about escaping the jw's is coming to terms with what you believe now and/or what direction you are leaning towards.. here is a site that has a quick quiz that may be of some worth or just for fun.

i took it when i first signed on here and the results surprised me because it was pretty accurate.. you don't have to sign up for anything and when you finish you will get a percentage answer on 20 major belief systems.

And JW 21% at third last place, wIth onlye eastern orthodox and roman catholic after.

Those JW pins and Jewelry

i'm not surprised but i must admit to a little eye roll.... looking at some photos on my brother's facebook page, i stumbled on a picture of our mother.

it took a few cycles thru the photos before i realized that mom has a jw pin on her top.. not surprising, but wanted to share.. we have not spoken in a long time.

for a while she was calling me every couple of weeks from her cell phone in the morning.
