Is the Pioneer School being eliminated?
by wannaexit ini heard from the semi reliable source that the pioneer schools will go the way of the dodo bird next year.. i could see this happening.
it used to be that you went to the the pioneer school once.
then they allowed dubs to go every 5 years.

it was fun to organise all the lunch things for the brothers, I ate very well those days. also i ran some kind of business taking the "graduation" picture for everyone and crafting some kind of diplome with those and framing it, it was very useful "summer money" and I became me well know in my city for that kind of work -
did you assist to 2009 international assembly in chile?
by Mandrake ini've been curious.
yesterday i discarded a lot of ugly souvenirs from that convention, i remember that i was at the santiago airport (my dad worked there) and i was assigned to translate and guide brothers through customs and many other processes.
i still have some led keyring flashlight david splane gave to me (he was at the time advising against college but next year i applied anyway) and i decided to conserve the visit card i got from gerrit losch and wife.

Still feel weird about things....
by FeelingFree inso i'm loving the fact that my little one gets to be a "normal" child and take part in everything at school.
however i still have that stupid niggling in the back of my head that she shouldn't be doing it and it's wrong etc.
at the moment she is rehearsing for the nativity play and keeps singing the songs at home (she is going to be an angel!

Hey! I think it's pretty much normal. It's been me 2nd year totally out and my birthdays it's still a bit of a struggle for my mind to totally and completely enjoy, but this last time I must said I enjoyed more, so maybe it's a matter of time and release bonds and mental programming to fade... -

Last night earthquake
by Mandrake inlast night i was in my car returning to santiago from vina del mar (the seaside) and waiting the green light the 8.4 earthquake started!
it lasted 2 minutes!!!
some people were scared, most acted calmly... so that brings to my memory what was to be a jw in the most seismic country in the world!

thanks for all the kind words! here in Santiago life is going on normally, the seaside was struck by the tsunamis and there is more work to do... as well in the Illapel, the closest city to the epicentre, we have such an "amusing" country... erupting volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, mudslides, all happened this year...
i've been away from the jws for about 2 years now, so i don't now very well what is being talked about the disasters, anyhow i still have some friends in, but every time those thing happen the same "the end is drawing coser" starts...

@Desirous maybe if a record a video of the flags that would be a more reliable evidence?@brandnew we are fine :) thank you !!! i was in the seaside 18 pm visiting my grandparents, and then i came back to Santiago (far from the coast) and just entering the city the 8.4 started! I stayed in the car, well the tsunamis came after that but those were not-so destructive... we survived the 8.8 so earthquakes are a common thing here and constructions are solid, people evacuated on time and there were only 8 human casualties... -

Hello everybody! Last night I was in my car returning to Santiago from ViƱa del Mar (the seaside) and waiting the green light the 8.4 earthquake started! It lasted 2 minutes!!! Some people were scared, most acted calmly... So that brings to my memory what was to be a JW in the MOST seismic country in the world! It's been such a relief not to hear the earthquakes prophecy things paranoia like back in 2010... On the other hand we are experiencing 5.0+ magnitude shakes every 30 minutes or so (see the map http://on.doi.gov/1Oz7DaB), and we are making almost normal life... -

Hey!!! I'm an earthquake proof chilean hahahahahahahaha, well I'm just waking up and feeling the aftershocks of the last night earthquake, we have one of 5.0+ magnitude every hour... Well and about the flag thing, last year I promised that I would take those pictures :) I'm curious if there will be a flag in the HQ too...
