  Why are anniversaries allowed but not birthdays?

  the scripture quotes aside, i was always told that we don't celebrate birthdays because that is a celebration of the self, which has no place in jehovah's organization.

  then why celebrate anniversaries?

  anniversary celebrations are about the joining of two selves, isn't that twice as selfish?.

  Kids continue to leave in droves - so what is the organization's grand plan? This

  jws have one of the worst, if not the worst, retention rates among their kids.

  i've seen numbers from 65% to 88% who leave, never to return.. you'd think this would be a priority amongst the leadership, right?

  where do tomorrow's leaders come from, if the vast majority of kids leave the organization?

  a couple weeks back my husband got a phone call from his brother, whom he hasn’t spoken to in nearly 17 years.

  well i take that back, he did speak to him at the family reunion, asking him to leave.

  my husband basically told him to f off, he would leave when he’s darn good and ready, but he didn’t use the word darn.

  I use textfree to keep irritating people up to date with negative JW news, pedophiles, murderers ARC, etc. You could create a fake tinder account w sisters pic. When you see her, big smile and wave. For everyone else, mispronounce, or forget their or kids, spouse name. This says I think of you so little, I can't remember your name.

  i've read many statements on this forum from people who have expressed the sentiment that you don't shove ttatt down the throat of an older person.

  it would be too traumatic and its best to let some people, in some situations, simply pass on in the delusion.. its humane.

  merciful.. in the initial roar of my awakening, i was unable to cuddle up to that sentiment; preferring, instead, to shove the blood curdling shock of truth down the throat of anyone i could get my grip on... age be dammed.

  Appointed as an elder the same year he started raping a 12 year old boy. Spiritual princes. Mighty oaks of strength to the congregation. It's no wonder they are moving away from DTD. Human Vermin. I would keep several printouts of this by the door if I was local.

  Did others experience this on the ministry or among JWs generally?

  sometimes it's hard to know if our own experience of jws was typical and what features were peculiar to our own area or the individual jws we knew personally.

  i was wondering if others experienced this among jws:.

  a few times on the ministry, when we were working wealthy areas with large houses, some brothers and sisters would make the comment that they look forward to taking ownership of one of these big houses after armageddon, when the worldly people have vacated them.

  I have heard similar. I remember a pioneer showing a householder a depiction of the new system in some print offer. The householder called him materialistic. He was upset about the label all morning. Funny what sticks!

  Just found out their about to baptise my 14 year old boy.

  there doing this right under my nose but i just found out.

  not sure what to do but would like your help on getting me wt information on my headship role and how they shouldn't be doing this with out my permission.

  also would like some help on showing my son the ramifications on what happens to someone when they get baptized and how they'll expect him to treat me.
