Urgh disgusting. Someone posted this on facebook yesterday so I saw it then. How can members keep denying there isn't a paedophile problem?! More and more articles like this are being published and can't just be written off as persecution. -

13:48.. understanding the lesson of this illustration helps us to avoid being overly distraught or disappointed if a bible student or one of our children does not make the truth his own.

I'm a year older than you 1983 baby. Oh yes I also wasn't allowed to watch those programs. Especially He-Man, She-Ra, Ewoks, Thunder Cats, Transformers, Ninja Turtles etc.
So stupid, but my parents really thought they were doing what's best. It sucked though. I hated being the different one at school. Enjoying your story so far! Off to read the next bits.

by The Searcher ina source tells me the following: .
for shropshire uk by the name of anthony manning has been removed and judicially reproved.
portishead congregation in north somerset is being merged or disbanded on sept 1st 2015 due to "aging elders, poor attendance, decrepit kingdom hall and landslip" - of course the suspicion is wt just wants to sell the hall off.

Anthony Manning was our C.O when I lived in Somerset. He was always going on trips and holidays with younger lads from the circuit, was rather flamboyant and very, very camp...... I always had my suspicions....
Very nice chap and always made an effort to chat to me as an awkward 15/16 year old....even though I am female haha!

Yes def watch Harry Potter, they get better as they go on. I would also recommend the TV series True Blood. It's brilliant!
I'm currently watching Buffy the vampire slayer as I never was allowed to when I lived at home! It's rubbish but also good if that makes sense.
Speaking as a girl I agree with QMI I shamelessly loved twilight!! Also Vampire Diaries and The Originals (Im a teenager at heart!!)
If you like reading at all I recommend Tad Williams he does some epic fantasy book series full of magic etc. Also Robin Hobb is brilliant. Read Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings as the films miss parts out and change them about.
I love stuff like this and always did when I was still in......now I don't need to feel guilty!!

Still feel weird about things....
by FeelingFree inso i'm loving the fact that my little one gets to be a "normal" child and take part in everything at school.
however i still have that stupid niggling in the back of my head that she shouldn't be doing it and it's wrong etc.
at the moment she is rehearsing for the nativity play and keeps singing the songs at home (she is going to be an angel!

Thanks so much everyone for your lovely and helpful replies. It's made me a bit teary! It's so great to have you guys to vent to and that you really understand what it's like.
Sometimes I think I'm getting on really well and then like today will have a real down day. All the crap just comes flooding back, I also have so much resentment inside. Little things mainly will trigger it like stupid jw instagram post or something (I have been proactive and come off it for that reason!)
Think I just need to keep busy and concentrate on the positives, the fact my children won't be indoctrinated and will enjoy all the these celebrations...... That's definitely something that's "happyfying" hahaha! Such a stupid made up word just like everything else jw related xxx

Oh Blondie that's horrible! How can a mother be so mean? No wonder you love giving gifts now.
I agree and don't want to just give my family and friends presents at crimbo and birthdays. Especially as the birthday of my youngest is the 2nd Jan! She would have Christmas pressies and birthday pressies really close together then nothing for the rest of the year. Seems a bit cruel to me.
