  Millie, I agree with what you are saying. I know people who seem to have an abundance of electrical energy that flows through them and are able to use this electricity to stimulate other people's circulatory systems.

  Eh...it runs in my family. My mother has hands like that and so does my son. Healing hands, apparently...that is what they have been told they have. Must be true...my mother made a good living from reflexology and massage. Her massages didn't work on me but...I think she really just wanted to hurt me. Healing hands can do the opposite too

  Linked, yes, but still separate from.

  How a person acts out their beliefs is based upon individual choice, not upon belief itself. For example, someone who believes wholeheartedly in the wrongness of homosexuality does not neccessarily abuse gay people - the abusive behavior is a choice made by people who use violence as a solution to frustration.   redpill: The question remains: How did she do it and how does it work?

  She may not have done it, not really. You may have been the one to do it. Her interaction with you may have just allowed your brain to re-interpret the signals it was receiving.

  Our brains are complex things...and they aren't always that accurate in interpreting what it happening inside our bodies, especially when it comes to pain. Pain perception is a personal and mysterious phenomena - we all experience pain differently and pain is something that eludes precise scientific measurement.

  It is possible that you really didn't have anything at all wrong with your wrist - you may have been experiencing sympathetic pain or a psychological pain that your brain was perceiving as physical - and the mere suggestion that the pain could disappear was enough for your brain to interpret reality correctly.

  Voila! Magical healing...only thing was...you did it yourself. Your brain may have been 're-set' so that it was able perceive what was really going on.

  Nobody does.

  Belief is separate from actions and speech. A belief does not give someone the right to disrespect other people's rights

  There is no "permission" involved in what people think. But there is permission involved in what they say and do.

  Bringing belief into the argument is silly - it detracts from what is possible - it is not possible to control belief

  Expanding number of DC/RC's

  according to my elder in law, by next year the number of dc/rc's will increase by 143. the size of conventions will get smaller.

  the elder in law says the goal is to make them all have around 2,000 or so at each.

  they are going to make more manuals detailing each job and it's responsibilities.

  I thought that the only money being drained was from the attendees' pockets. I have always been under the impression that conventions were big money making operations for the WTS

  i found a retracted medical study that is cited by the bloodless/blood management world.. i wonder when they will get around to recognizing the retraction in the blood management world.

  Well, that depends on how you define 'the org'.

  The Org/WT didn't reference this article...at least, not directly, that I know of. This article is referenced by the blood management/bloodless people - it is used as a justification for not giving blood to JWs.

  vidiot: So, a medical puff piece ostensibly validating the JW stance on blood, and utilizing biased and less-than-ethical testing standards has been essentially disavowed by all three doctors who originally wrote it?

  No.

  The three doctors, who requested the retraction, did NOT originally write it. Of course they disavowed ownership...they didn't write it.

  It was a fraudulent paper - authored by an Arab dude, SR El Azab. He stuck the names on his paper without permission. He also claimed that the research had ethical approval. It didn't.

  This is an example of the kind of "evidence based research" that underpins the blood management industry. I suspect there is more research like this that has yet to be discovered as being fraudulent
