Hidden message in JW bunker video?
by Dunedain inso, i was speaking with a relative recently, who is "in" the borg, but is completely aware of the terrible hypocrisy from the gb down.
he is not in the box, and its great to be able to have a realistic, and logical discussion about the current state of the org.. we started discussing, specifically, about that bunker video that was released in december.
how it is being played at all the conventions.

colin: I have had a brief discussion with my partner this afternoon, who is aware of the my turmoil, and is very supportive. I have decided to cancel the study and not attend meetings. I will teach my children about Jah and Jesus through nature and basic bible stories.
Chow for now
Good luck, Colin
All the best to you and your family
*pssst...don't read the JW Bible book to your kids...it is too scary for children to process

Colinconfused: You are right my partner is my spouse
That's what I thought.
The men that I know who refer to their spouse as their 'partner' usually have a lot of respect for their spouses. And that is why I find your decision to study with the JWs again to not be all that rational. The JWs will remove that equal partnership idea from your marriage. Your wife will be 'the lesser vessel' and your children will be raised to not think of marriage as a 'partnership' but rather as a power relationship between the 'head' and the submissive one - the wife
Keep calling your wife your partner and keep treating her with that respect - an acknowledgement that she is on the same footing as you and that you are in a partnership with equal say. You will lose that if your family becomes another JW family with the man in charge and the woman meekly following

I conclude evolution is guided
by KateWild inyour qualifications are way above mine so i'd love to hear more about the specifics of what you have researched and how that supports the existence of a deity.
k99, i am not really convinced that you're interested in my conclusions.

But alas no one has said much
?????????
just that I'm stupid
yeah...they probably came to that conclusion based on the evidence you have given about your lack of ability to engage with those who have said a LOT about the subject at hand

Convicted Child Rapist Proselytizing. Is the Community Aware? Is the Community Safe?
by freemindfade inwow, this is awesome.
this really shows the jw passiveness towards child sex abusers.
there needs to be more of this exposing this!.

raven: it seems to have happened back in the 90's though - maybe he wasn't a JW back then when it happened?
(sorry for the repetition...copying and pasting from previous post on this thread)
I have been following this on reddit
This man was in prison when he was converted by JWs. They knew he was a child rapist. When he was released, he became a good, active JW - so good in fact, that the elders allowed him to do activities with kids (except the elder's kids)
He wasn't lost in the shuffle - he was groomed by the elders themselves while he was still inside his jail cell and then, after he was released, the elders 'kept an eye on him'

No, you are not stupid for wanting the f-ing proof
Your ignorance comes from ignoring all the things that people have said about the work being done in the field of abiogenesis
Your ignorance does not arise from wanting the proof...it arises from your refusal to engage in the process of examining the 'proof'

LisaRose: The link didn't verify if he was currently on the sex offender registry, it would be nice to verify that he is indeed in the registry. If so, this is something that needs to be publicized.
The link that freemindfade provided identifies Chandler as a "Registered Sex Offender"

colinconfused: we have two amazing children. They are the main reason I wanted to reconnect with Jah because I wanted to teach my children about creation and Jehovah.
It is obvious that you love your children and want to do what is best for them
I would suggest that you do some searches, either here on this forum or elsewhere, concerning the Australian Royal Commission into Institutional Child Sex Abuse (ARC). The WTS gives the impression that the children are a priority within the organization and yet their policies surrounding how they handles cases of child abuse are woefully inadequate. Ask yourself if this is really the best place for your children
If your children are lucky enough to avoid the child rapists that are hidden away in the congregations, then they will be unfortunate enough to be exposed to cartoons such as - 'children, give your ice cream money to the organization so we can build more real estate ventures' or 'how to instill a fear of homosexuality in children'
I understand the need and desire to want the best for our children. That is why I made a decision many, many years ago to not raise my children as JWs - they deserved a better chance than that. And so did I.
Your desire to provide a religious experience for your children is based upon your own belief that the JWs have 'the truth'.
Relax. My dad felt the same way as you when I refused to go back to the Kingdom Hall when I was only 13/14. He, too, thought that his daughter should 'have a chance at surviving Armageddon' even tho he had faded himself. That was back in the early 70s. Armageddon didn't arrive in 75, I didn't return to the JWs...and here we are. My dad and I are really, really happy. It broke his heart when I wouldn't continue...he thought I was going to be destroyed....he was wrong and has admitted it several times. Both of our hearts are whole and happy with our decision. And so are both my children. And grandchildren.
Your children can be and will be happy outside of the WT organization.
Good luck
*to add:
sir: Congratulations, but...."partner" and not "spouse"?
They'll never let you back unless you marry her.It is common to refer to a married spouse as "partner" in today's culture
"Partner" does not mean that you are not married

Prince's Philanthropic Legacy: Love 4 One Another
by Zaccheus inthe unreasonable jw standard of avoiding support for charities is an explanation given in this article on the website of glasspockets, an advocacy group for transparency in non-profit groups, for the anonymity of philanthropic ventures prince undertook in the years before his death.. http://blog.glasspockets.org/2016/05/moy-prince-philanthropy-11052016.html.
even with all of the press attention, much remains unknown about prince’s philanthropy.
as a jehovah’s witness, prince may have felt compelled to keep his giving private.

smiddy: How much money did prince leave to the WTB&TS ? Is that going to become public information ?
Will the WT organization disclose that ?
Will his family ?Prince did not 'leave' anything at all to anybody. He died without making a will.
The court is now down to ordering DNA tests for 6 people who have made claims against his estate. The WTS is not a contender for any part of his estate. They have no claim.
