  so we had this posted in the mega topic thread... wt: warwick world hq tour brochure.

  the new world headquarters of jws, located at warwick, new york, will open for tours on monday, april 3, 2017.. in anticipation, a new eight-page glossy brochure about this facility has now been released:.

  kpop: Forgive me if this is not correct but am I the only one who finds it ironic that the JW .borg is made up of mostly minorities (20% white, 40% black and African, 10% Asian, 30% Latino) but is headed by a group of old white men? Jehovah has such a sense of humor!

  But it is effective. In a country like Africa, it is a selling point. The religion becomes this all powerful collection of white gods who live really far away. It adds to their authority.

  And the Glorious Ones pat themselves on the back for being the Perfect Paternal Protector. The charitable colonial corporate model in action.

  dozy: Interesting to see "Fat Boy" Sanderson at the head of the table of the writing committee. Is he the chairman this service year ( unusual for the most junior of the GB members to hold such a prominent position? ) Or does he just need a bit more room to spread himself?

  JWalk Tours organises group travel for Jehovah’s Witnesses. This idea is for fellow believers to have a chance to travel with, and meet brothers and sisters from different countries, cultures and backgrounds.
  Our main focus is Bible Land Tours, particularly Jordan and Israel. Besides the Bible Lands, we also put together a different tour every year. These tours are a once off but Bible Land Tours run regularly.
  We will also be organising tours of the new headquarters in Warwick, as well as Wallkill and Patterson, in the near future.

  Fisherman: Can you cite one case filed against the WT in the US where wt was found guilty of violating a mandatory child abuse reporting........

  Hahaha!

  Of course those are difficult to find. The Watchtower settles all of them before the court can make a judgement on the case!

  How many did they settle a few years back? 17 cases or something like that, wasn't it? And all with gag orders attached.

  Let's make a list of all the cases that the WT has settled before judgement. Now that would be informative and pertinent to this discussion.

  Who said anything at all about outside authority?

  Do you not have your own authority to make a decision?

  RO: I am not sure if he meant that Bloodless surgery is when the person has no blood which is what he said or is it that it leads to the person having no blood. I am not sure. that is why I asked him to clarify that statement.

  I didn't say that. You did.

  Of course, though, when a patient has had their blood drained (ANH) and replaced with a volume expander, they would naturally be considered "anemic"

  Once their body was "bloodless", I suppose anemic would be a correct term to use

  JWs and legalized Marijuana

  i know this was probably covered before in some post, but i was curious.

  what is the jw stance on recreational marijuana use in the states where it has been legalized?.

  i would suspect smoking it, like cigarettes, would probably still be against the rules, but there are ways to use it that aren't damaging to your lungs.

  With a username like that..I can see why you would say that! Lol!

  The JWs' use of alcohol is such a paradox.

  On one hand, the WT makes a huge deal out of the ways that their brand of medicine can "reduce the need for blood transfusion" yet on the other hand, alcohol use increases the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.

  Bleeding from oesophageal varices is responsible for 5-11% of all cases of upper gastrointestinal bleeding
  In Western countries, alcoholic and viral cirrhosis are the leading causes of portal hypertension and oesophageal varices

  It is no surprise that many JWs experience gastrointestinal bleeding.

  Why hasn't the WT banned alcohol use? A step like that would definitely have reduced the number of JWs who would have required a blood transfusion.
