I think he has a case.
Maybe a letter writing campaign will help him? Where do we send our letters of support?

RUSSIA: (7 April 2017) Day 3 - Jehovah's Witnesses hearing under way
by Drearyweather inin moscow, a soft rain drizzles.
along the facade of the supreme court stretched a large queue of those who came to the process as listeners.
a large bus is parked at the courthouse on povarskaya street, full of obviously bored police officers.

Dreary: But on the first day, they reported all their denials that they got from the judge. Almost nothing was in their favor.
Yeah...they were staging a persecution drama. Oh woe is us...the judge is mean.
I'm getting confused. Yesterday, while arguing about medical treatment, why didn't the justice ministry present all the cases of deaths caused due to blood transfusion refusals? or is it that they don't have such data?
You are confused. You are in a Russian courtroom, not an American one.
It could simply be that the Russian court doesn't fall for the WT legal maneuvers designed to obfuscate the issue. The blood transfusion issue has already been addressed in Russian courts. That is already a matter of public record.
It could also be that the court proceedings are just starting and that will be addressed later in the proceedings.
Laws in Russia were only introduced in 2016 that make it a criminal offence to encourage others to not undertake lawful medical treatment. There have been no cases since the law was introduced which is why the JWs focused on 'no cases'.
Jwleaks, you may be right that there hasn't been cases since 2016, but there certainly were before that date.
If so, then why did the Ministry bring this point up?
Because it was already something that was an issue in the courts. People already died from blood refusal, regardless if Russia's response didn't become Russian law until 2106. And, regardless if any cases made it into public record, we all know that the blood refusal doctrine hasn't changed.

Crazyguy: The carts and thier street witnessing is a complete waste of time
But some company over in China made a sackful of money in the manufacturing and sale of those fancy little chariots of god. Who was invested in that company?

Saename: Jehovah's Witnesses at the university!?
Oh, I get it. You almost got me.Lol! No, no! It isn't a joke.
The JWs have had a table at the university for the past several years. I have seen them there off and on when I wander down to campus. And I have received reports from friends who have seen them there.
I actually had a plan a couple years ago to print off the university's Religious Studies program's offerings and present it to them and encourage them to take some classes. But, for some reason, they haven't been there the last few times I have been at the university. I really expected them to be but I could just have not been there on the right week.

Victims of "political repression"
by biblexaminer inpolitical repression is the persecution of an individual or group within society for political reasons, particularly for the purpose of restricting or preventing their ability to take part in the political life of a society thereby reducing their standing among their fellow citizens.[1][2].
so, the governing bastards feel that putin is trying to keep jehovah's witnesses out of politics.
interesting.... all the russians had to do is to ask watchtower one question.

Yes, it isn't that the argument is "freedom of religion" - the argument is "what is religion (the institution) allowed to do"?
And now, all they give a damn about is the real estate.
Well, that and their precious Hospital Information Service. They have groomed the bloodless market in Russia for a long time now - they jumped on that one pretty quick back in the 90s. I doubt they want to give up on that investment.

A trustful source has informed me today that an important city in Spain is preparing to require all carts to obtain a licence to use the public areas, an insurance for civil claims and a clear identification of the owner of them...
I have yet to see a JW cart where I live. So I checked the city bylaws and found just what you describe. Requirements for licencing fees, liability insurance, ownership details, etc., all of which would require a fairly large $ outlay on the part of individual vendors.
And I haven't seen them in their usual table spot down at the university either. Pretty quiet here!

bibleexaminer: I find it amusing that the Watchtower was working to be designated as "victims of political repression".
One cannot be "politically neutral" and be politically repressed.Isn't that called estoppel? Trying to have their cake and eat it too?
Regardless of where a person stands on the "freedom of religion" issue, what is apparent in this performance in Russia, is the duplicitous nature of the Watchtower machine.
'They' (WT/JW) twist and turn and slide...and poke fingers back. It is this - trying to say they are "politically repressed" when it doesn't apply - and their assertions that they are shiny faced innocent. To say - but we haven't imported any material in the last 2 years! is a misrepresentation. They had a shipment blocked at the border last year. From Finland, I think. And, we all were raised on stories of how smuggling literature into banned countries was the next thing to being touched with the hand of Jehovah himself.
Give me a break. They hide behind half truths and when that doesn't work, they jump up and down and say - look at you! look at all you do wrong!
Anything and everything to avoid addressing what it is that they really are: an organization that politically represses anyone and everyone they can pull into their net.

The Jehovah's Witnesses are politically repressed. By the Watchtower.
The repression is internal - the JWs are blocked from participating in the political life of a society by the very institution they belong to - The Watchtower Society is guilty of political repression.
