  i am shaking all over right now.

  i think it's worse that the bunker video.. i used to think there was no way that these people would actually "drink the cool aid" if you get my drift, but seeing this video i am now not sure it could never happen.. having a wife who i love dearly trapped in this cult is really freaking me out right now...

  I think it is direct reference to Russia. Several Russian congregations have recently been subjected to a sweep that included raids and armed searches with assault rifles etc. (http://forum18.org/archive.php?article_id=2381)

  And about that forest...again, Russia. That is how a lot of people envision that huge expansive country - miles and miles of Siberian forests. Which you need a parka to wander around in. 'Cause Russia is cold, you know.

  All stereotypical cultural visual clues that have been inserted into the video by those astute org film makers. It is sort of like Disney on steroids.

  Public Talk invitations ....Next to .Zero Attendees

  from my conversion at the end of 1959 to my leaving the j.w`s about early 1993 i remember especially in the first 20 -30 years or so giving out invitations to public talks that were to be given at our local k.h.

  every time i went out in the service witnessing from door to door week in week out i would leave these tracts at not at homes or whoever would accept them .. and in my personal experience i cannot recall more than five worldly / non j.w.

  people , if that , who came to a public talk as a result of the invitations given at the doors in our witnessing work in the 33 years of my being an active jehovah`s witness .. and none of them ever became a jehovah`s witness .. was it just me ?

  well, i got to see the final day of this years regional convention.and i saw something that disturbs me.. the final, "summing up review" video.

  it disturbs me because it was so well done.

  (i wish i could remember the title of the song), to the strains of a solo vocalist singing in a fine "irish tenor", we see the actors from the previous videos of the last few days all assembling together in a clearing.

  The media needs to stop making these incidents into living room entertainment

  The young people who are susceptible to suicidal and murderous thoughts are only being encouraged to join the celebrity status of those they are imitating

  The less attention these shootings get, the less likelihood of copycat behavior. Attention is attention whether negative or positive and that is what these kids are seeking. They want to be heard and the media is feeding their desire

  Forget gun control. The media needs to put a stop to making these horrific events into a circus. They are responsible for spreading this contagious disease. That is the first thing that needs to happen

  the second episode will air on 5/29 at 9:00 pm and jehovah's witnesses will be featured.

  hopefully they do a good job exposing them for what they really are.

  native american background, my great grandmother was a witch doctor a damn good one too, my non witness relatives dabble in it.

  so i have seen stuff and experienced stuff.

  what was really interesting for me to discover was that there used to be a group of scholars who were doing these experiments on university campuses which would be completely impossible to do now because of changed attitudes and perceptions regarding was is considered "science"

  Parapsychology was never really accepted in the scientific community. Parapsychology never did meet the requirements of basic scientific methodology.

  Science has always been science. Nothing changes that method. Validity and reproducibility is essential to science and it is on the first requirement - validity - that parapsychology fails miserably.

  Validity means that the means of measurement is valid - in other words, does the measurement actually measure what the scientist says it does. In parapsychology, that is not possible. It never has been possible and it likely never will be. That is why parapsychology fell out of favor. It cannot claim validity and therefore cannot be science.

  Ideas about what science is hasn't changed. But people continue to try to change it to something it isn't.

  Parapsychology tried and failed the fundamental test to qualify it as science.

  By the way, the class you took sounds interesting. But it isn't science. It is anthropology.
