  sfb: Does this mean individual elders will be prosecuted?

  I think that JW elders (and ex-elders) who didn't report child abuse should be getting a little nervous right about now.

  This should shake their confidence in the Watchtower legal advice.

  slidingfast: This is significant since it recognises that a JC is not a with a penitent but is an investigation with sanctions. Since this is the Delaware Supreme Court it also sets a legal precedent.

  Yes. This is a very important ruling that will not allow the JW elders to use the "clergy-penitent" clause in order to escape mandatory reporting.

  Huh. Betcha a lot of elders are gonna be pissed that they listened to the Watchtower lawyers instead of following the law.

  • Billions of dollars in compensation have been given to those who received tainted blood and their families due, in part, to Canada's former reliance on blood from paid donors;

  • The Krever Inquiry recommended an end to a private, for-profit blood donor system in Canada, citing these five basic principles regarding how the blood system should be governed: 1. Blood is a public resource; 2. Donors should not be paid; 3. Sufficient blood should be collected so that importation from other countries is unnecessary; 4. Access to blood and blood products should be free and universal; and 5. Safety of the blood supply system is paramount;

  • Our blood plasma is not meant to be a commodity that is bought and sold, we must protect our voluntary blood system in Canada and ensure we have one national operator, the Canadian Blood Services, to oversee blood collection and plasma collection in our country.

  We, the undersigned, residents of Canada, request (or call upon) the Government of Canada to:
  Refuse to issue or approve any license to Canadian Plasma Resources or other private, for-profit, donor-paid blood products company to operate in Canada; and
  Implement legislation that ensures no for-profit, donor-paid blood donor clinics are allowed to operate in Canada.

  Has a 'Christian' ever murdered somebody?

  a jw made the claim "no christian [jw] has ever murdered anyone".. when i showed examples of such, the goalposts moved a bit with "was he a baptized, dedicated witness?".

  can anyone provide examples of murders committed by "baptized, dedicated" jws?.

  do you remember the case?

  jehovers witness parents did a runner without telling the medical staff caring for their seriously ill child and took him to receive proton therapy in praque as this treatment was not available in the u.k.. first most importantly the good news, the boy was declared cancer free last march.. anyway i am sure at the time this issue would have created a lot of heated debate on the forum, as it was a case that created a media frenzy, with the parents and their jehovers witness religious beliefs being heavily critizised .

  however as i followed the case i couldn't help but admire the parents, as i felt they would have acted indepentedly of both the jehovers witness organisation and the u.k medical advice, having in my opinion seriously thought the matter through, and then doing they thought was the best way for treatment.. so if you remember the case my questions are:-.

  The Kings may have made a public statement saying that they would accept blood for their little boy, however, their intial decision to pursue proton beam therapy could very well have been influenced by their noblood beliefs.

  This form of therapy is called "bloodless surgery" because it leaves vital organs and healthy tissue near the tumor unaffected.

  Note that the birthplace of proton beam therapy is the same as where 'bloodless' surgery first got its start in the States (stomping grounds of Lapin et al):

  Back in 1990, when Loma Linda University Medical Center first began treating patients with proton therapy, it was called the future of cancer treatment.

  And, proton beam therapy, according to that article, carries the exact same label as has been applied to bloodless medicine and now, to blood management..."the golden standard":

  i have an appointment with his primary oncologist at the end of next month as an end of treatment exit meeting.

  she and her team are leads at this particular hospital.

  What is odd is that the Stoops website seems to be operational - which violates the directive from the State of Missouri that states they cannot carry on business.

  Who is running Stoops since it was dissolved and how can they legally still carry on business?

  I know that there are some articles written by an RN that have looked at how to educate nurses on how to give access of medical information to pregnant JW women about their health care options. Basically - an education for nurses and how to optimize the health choices for pregnant JW women - the most vulnerable group of the noblood doctrine. And, the results of how many JW women actually chose blood over noblood options.

  I will have to look for it...if someone knows what I am talking about - please post. The articles are quite good.
