The WTS has been preparing for this for some time now.
In 2014, the UK branch transferred in excess of 16 million pounds to the German branch, up from less than one million in 2013...
according to our sources, germany bethel will take in charge all treasuries for all europe starting sept 1st.. each bethel will deliver the funds as a donation to german legal entity.. gold ages for ibsa and other entities in eu are over :).

bye... bye.... no more new printing presses for jw.org... the growth is so tremendous (irony...).. all printing work in europe will be arrange in the next month only in selters (germany), but no renovation or upgrading in printing presses is expected... it will be a full outsourcing :).
a worldly company axel s******* will be used.
this company is known to be printing bild newspaper... the interesting part of it is the logistics will be as well outsourced.
jwundubbed: To be fair most newspapers and other companies that use printing presses are finding it far too expensive to actually use printing presses. Many printing press companies in the US have closed down and have been closing down for the past 10 years or so.
To be fair...the WTS has always been just a business- never really a religion - they only say they are "not part of this world". What a myth.
what i'm looking for specifically is things that are "pagan" in the sense they predate christianity (or i guess judiasm to cover the ole mosaic code), that jw's allow or do.
the ones that come to mind are below.. rings - rings seem to originate in egypt.
for wedding ceremonies it became a symbol of "ownership" in rome.. pinatas - looks like possibly it originated in china as a part of the new year and a request for luck, and catholics later turned it into a beating of temptation type thing.. anything else?.
The JW "anointed" partake in a ceremony that has its roots in pagan practice: the partaking of bread and wine symbolizing flesh and blood is based on the actual practice in ancient times of eating the flesh and blood of human sacrifice.
sometimes it's hard to know if our own experience of jws was typical and what features were peculiar to our own area or the individual jws we knew personally.
i was wondering if others experienced this among jws:.
a few times on the ministry, when we were working wealthy areas with large houses, some brothers and sisters would make the comment that they look forward to taking ownership of one of these big houses after armageddon, when the worldly people have vacated them.
Fantasizing about their future home in paradise is a common JW preoccupation:
i want a t-shirt.
something that says "religion is crap, i don't care which one".. i was thinking of adapting the "coexist" one to say "toxic" instead which is great because it removes 'science' but includes all the major world religions.. anyone else have any ideas?.
also a tag-line ... "whatever god you worship, he's a weirdigan".

You can order one in kids' sizes:

Lots more anti-religious tshirts here (kids sizes...must be adult ones around somewhere...):

I like this one:
i know that some people on the board have experience of being mormons, so i would be interested in your feedback.
at church this afternoon it was an uncanny experience.
in the past i've read a lot about mormons, so i thought i was prepared in general for what it would be like.
Slimboyfat:
I am resolutely worm enough
then you might need these:

welcome to the jwr members who have made it over to this forum.. for anyone who needs to grab info from jwr, the pages archived at the wayback machine may be useful.. these are the archived pages from april 14, 2016:.

Designer, I think it is a stable site.
I have used the resource for several years with good results most times. Once a page is archived there, it stays there.
In my cyber wanderings, I encounter tons of links that are dead with previously available material no longer at the link address. Often, I have been able to access previously archived pages and resurrect old material. It is awesome for sites that try to hide or change their info.
However, the Wayback Machine doesn't capture everything - some web addresses have few or no pages archived. It seems that the more traffic a page or site gets, the more often wayback will take a snapshot and archive it.
Archive.org - and the Wayback Machine on that site - is one of the most frequent and reliable sites on the web that I use.
Have fun. A person can dig up a lot of old treasures on that site.
message from designer stubble to the former jwr members.
first of all i am glad to see that many of you have found your way to this great forum, facilitated by simon.
i am sure that after the dust of the jwr shutdown has settled, you will find this to be a good new home.. i would like to apologize for the sudden closure of jwr.
Thanks for moving the link for wayback machine here, DesignerStubble.
I think it is important to be able to access the writings that are contained in that forum. Many people have invested time, energy, emotion and their souls into those words.
I was a member of Ronnie's forum for several years - the exjw yuku forum. We were a small forum but some of the members were really close. When it closed last year, Ronnie gave all of us ample notice. We had time to make contacts and set up a private facebook group so we could stay in touch. Ronnie's handling of the closure was great. And, the entire site is still online, with members still being able to log on. The yuku information is still accessible.
Anyways...don't despair...all is not lost - the Wayback Machine is a great tool - your words are all still there. Hopefully that will help you make the transition to this forum or elsewhere...good luck.
:)
