JohnDoe: I absolutely think JWs would do this. Regardless if the leadership claims credit or condemns it, it's exactly the kind of myopic self aggrandizing circle jerk that disrespects others' culture and beliefs that the superstitious rank and file would partake in.

The story is plausible to me.
How many of us destroyed artifacts and such that we thought were 'demon-possessed'? On the instruction of the WTS and the JWs themselves? I did. I am sure many of you did. Superstition runs deep and this story comes out of a culture of superstition - they have just replaced their old superstitions with a new one - the WTS doctrine of demons and the devil
It is so sad that if this happened, and I think it did, because these people would have been destroying their own heritage. What a horrible organization this WTS is - teaching doctrine that fosters fanatical behavior

"Server Error" in messages.
by marlborobarbie ini've been trying to check my messages as i've been told i was sent a pm, but for some reason i can't.
the envelope reads "0", and when i click on it i get a black page that reads at the top left, "server error" and i have to back out.
this has been going on since monday, and i've tried to check my messages from the computer in a regular window (i use chrome), incognito window, and on my phone.

So Are Inactives officially SHUNNED?
by minimus ini've read here that inactives are the same as disfellowshipped, treatment wise.
is that correct or did i misread it??

flipper: PHIZZY hit on a really good point. " The fact that the GB/Leaders of JW org. would love to see " inactives " totally shunned , as we are the group most likely to plant seeds of discontent and doubt. "
Not only that, but the WTS wants to be in the position to say in court "oh...but that person isn't really a JW" even if the one on trial hasn't been disfellowshipped or disassociated.

by dorian hargrove, june 24, 2016. a san diego superior court judge has ordered the church of jehovah's witnesses, also known as the watchtower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, to pay $4000 a day for every day that it fails to produce documents requested in a civil lawsuit brought by former parishioner, osbaldo padron, who claims a church elder sexually abused him when he was seven years old.. in a june 23 ruling, expected to be made final today, judge richard strauss admonished the church for willfully ignoring a court order to produce all documents associated with a 1997 body of elders letter that church leaders sent to parishes around the world in a quest to learn about sexual abuse of children by church leaders.. over the course of the past year, the watchtower society and its lawyers have fought hard to keep the letter confidential, claiming that turning over the documents would infringe on the privacy of those mentioned in the letter that were not associated with the case.. in march 2015, the church turned over a heavily redacted version of the letter.

She got to read the secret elders manual that women aren't even supposed to touch.
