If Jehovah hates magic, why is it ok to go to Magic theme parks such as Disneyland the Magic Kingdom and not be disfellowshipped for it?
by Greybeard inif jehovah hates magic, why is it ok to go to magic theme parks such as disney land the magic kingdom?
i grew up a jw and we all went to disney land and magic mountain.

Lett facial ticks from a stroke/aneurysm?
by azor ini was speaking to my mom the other day.
she stays in the group to retain a relationship with the rest of our in family.
she told me that she heard from one of my brothers that the reason lett makes all those weird facial gestures has something to do with a stroke or aneurysm when he was a younger man.

I heard that it was because his mother was dead and read lips, so he got used to using exaggerated facial expressions so she could understand him.

Today's Study - Shun Disfellowshipped Family, Don't Marry Outsiders, Tell On Others!
by Divergent inurghhh... what a disgusting study!7 a conflict of loyalties may arise when a close relative is disfellowshipped.
for example, a sister named anne received a telephone call from her disfellowshipped mother.
the mother wanted to visit anne because she felt pained by her isolation from the family.

Under WT rules, can JW women file for a divorce? Or can only men file?
by JimmyPage inthe reason i ask is because while watching the "dateline" episode about ralph candelario, the claim was made that only jw men could file for divorce, not women.
.
i had never thought about this before.. also, how does this apply in cases where a husband is "apostate" while the wife is faithful to wt?

She can file as long as she wears the appropriate head covering. You know, the subjection thing.... -

Thanks for the comments and well wishes. I know the result of not being "allowed" to celebrate birthdays results in the many problems you all stated. Do you guys think this was done intentionally, or the GB really thinks birthdays are evil and the problems are just a side issue? -

Apparently graduation parties are ok, too. As long as it's high school. Never been to a dub college grad party. -

Dark knight757, I think the special part is what we are supposed to avoid. It sort of takes away from the BORG part . As a parent I think one of the most important days is the birth of a baby. That should be celebrated. And why are wedding anniversaries ok? 😒 -

True Darkknight757! What gets me is the fanatical obsession with baby showers. Those are ok, apparently. Had a family member mention at a recent baby shower that it would sure be nice if they had showers for the child later on to get things that the kid would need. I mentioned that they do. They're called birthday parties. Got stunned silence and angry stares. Oops!
