Yes, he knows we are here for him. We're fading quietly with him. I was struck by his statement about feeling trapped and abandoned. He lost his dad when young, I'm remarried to a wonderful fading man who views him as a son. We will guide him through this.

Abandoned by JW and yet trapped
by awake!watcher inhad an enlightening discussion with my 20 something, baptised, awake son.
he said he feels abandoned by the religion, and yet trapped at the same time.
i had never thought about it that way before, but can totally understand where he is coming from.

I had never thought about it that way before, but can totally understand where he is coming from. My heart goes out to him, and all the other born is, who now have to try to sort all if this out, face the prospect of losing grandparents and other family members, and find a mate who can be empathetic to their situation. My love to all of you who are going through similar situations.

If Jehovah hates magic, why is it ok to go to Magic theme parks such as Disneyland the Magic Kingdom and not be disfellowshipped for it?
by Greybeard inif jehovah hates magic, why is it ok to go to magic theme parks such as disney land the magic kingdom?
i grew up a jw and we all went to disney land and magic mountain.

Lett facial ticks from a stroke/aneurysm?
by azor ini was speaking to my mom the other day.
she stays in the group to retain a relationship with the rest of our in family.
she told me that she heard from one of my brothers that the reason lett makes all those weird facial gestures has something to do with a stroke or aneurysm when he was a younger man.

I heard that it was because his mother was dead and read lips, so he got used to using exaggerated facial expressions so she could understand him.

Today's Study - Shun Disfellowshipped Family, Don't Marry Outsiders, Tell On Others!
by Divergent inurghhh... what a disgusting study!7 a conflict of loyalties may arise when a close relative is disfellowshipped.
for example, a sister named anne received a telephone call from her disfellowshipped mother.
the mother wanted to visit anne because she felt pained by her isolation from the family.

Under WT rules, can JW women file for a divorce? Or can only men file?
by JimmyPage inthe reason i ask is because while watching the "dateline" episode about ralph candelario, the claim was made that only jw men could file for divorce, not women.
.
i had never thought about this before.. also, how does this apply in cases where a husband is "apostate" while the wife is faithful to wt?

She can file as long as she wears the appropriate head covering. You know, the subjection thing.... -

Thanks for the comments and well wishes. I know the result of not being "allowed" to celebrate birthdays results in the many problems you all stated. Do you guys think this was done intentionally, or the GB really thinks birthdays are evil and the problems are just a side issue? -

Apparently graduation parties are ok, too. As long as it's high school. Never been to a dub college grad party. -

Dark knight757, I think the special part is what we are supposed to avoid. It sort of takes away from the BORG part . As a parent I think one of the most important days is the birth of a baby. That should be celebrated. And why are wedding anniversaries ok? 😒
