My calendar is the Country Music Hall of Fame Calendar and Miss September is Faith Hill. And, as beautiful as she is, it's a REALLY BAD picture of her!

...............this is an update on my thread about giving up drinking.
if you didnt read it, this was my first weekend in years that i wouldnt have a drink.
well ill admit it i was quite worried how id feel, but it was great.
That's a great start to your goal of an alcohol-free month.
Congratulations!
CountryGuy
i was inspired by rat's post.
are you a nice person?
melodramatic?
And unlike others, I am grateful for the WBTS for helping create the me I am today.
Good point Nellie. All of our experiences, good and bad, in and out of the WTS, make us who we are.
That said, YES! I very much like who I am. There are still things that I want to improve about myself, but I am so very happy with my life. This is a fact that I have made known the last couple of times that the JWs spoke to me, even if I didn't believe it at the time! It always messes with their heads to think that anyone could be happy with out the WTS telling them what to do, think, or feel.

looks like the moderate / liberal population is screwed.
"jesus loves you" george is about to put two new people in the supreme court.. .
http://www.cnn.com/2005/law/09/03/rehnquist.obit/index.htmlchief justice rehnquist has died.
By the way, I condsider extreme left wingers, such as Ginsburg, to be idiots as well. Either extreme, left or right, is idiotic IMHO.
I agree. The court needs moderates who decide things on a case by case situation. Sandra Day O'Connor was conservative, but she took a "liberal" view on certain cases. Bush should appoint someone like her, but I don't think it's going to happen. There are very few people who take a conservative or liberal stance on EVERYTHING. The court should reflect that.

on randy's freeminds site my personal story: my life in jehovah's service appears.
it is sad that you publish information on jehovah's witnesses.. you even title it, my life in jehovah's service.. but you know nothing about what it means to be one of jehovah's witnesses.. .
so you should get your information from people, like me, who know.
Awesome! I think that your level-headedness and respectful tone will go almost as far as the information if the person actually will think about the issues you present.
WAY TO GO!!!

a lot of people are working hard to help those whove been affected.
the results are not acceptable, he said.
im heading down there right now.
I'll admit it. I'm a little angry at Bush. When something like this happens, you expect to be comforted by your leaders. You expect them to address the nation and show us how we're going to be okay. Exactly like he did on 9/11.
Yes, Bush has made statements, but why did he wait to do it? Days after the storm, Bush went to visit the area (which he SHOULD HAVE DONE no matter the cost), but, like others, I got the feeling he was just there for the photo op.
After 9/11, there was an immediate response. Why did it take DAYS, not hours to get help to New Orleans? I know there has to be a good reason. When people are in trouble like this there shouldn't be any such thing as Democrat or Republican.

.
what are your plans for this long week end?
sunday meeting, or field service?
Well, instead of going to see our friends in Amarillo, we're going to stay here. We just can't afford the gas, but we are going to order a pizza as consolation.
Other than that, SLEEEEP IN!!!

yesterday evening i was taking a long walk, and then i saw a nickel (5 cents) on the sidewalk, so i didn't even bother to pick it up.
then walking away i was surprised that i didnt even pick it up.
i know that i would never pick up a penny, but a nickel, usually i do pick that up.
It usually ends up in Kevan's birthday jar with all of his daily change. It amounts to $150 - 200 dollars a year Birthday money!
Brenda,
We use it for the smaller stocking gifts at Christmas. We usually get anywhere from $75 to $100. So it's more than enough for that. We both work in buildings where there's a soda vending machine, so it's usually only pennies and nickels in the jar.
I once worked with a lady who would NEVER pass any coin on the ground without picking it up. I asked her why, she told me that on every coin (in the US) it has the phrase "In God We Trust" written on it. She said that everytime she sees a coin on the ground, then she has to pick it up because she would never pass up an opportunity to show her trust in God. I don't know that I believe that, but I can say, I usually pick up any coin on the ground.

i took a chance on a raffle in a variety store, and won a "mothers day cake"!!!
ha, ha !!
it was so freakin' dry, too !!
The first thing I ever won was a blue ribbon and ten dollars for my drawing of a mockingbird in first grade.
The best thing I ever won was the heart of my sweetie!
(You may all gag now!)
