For those who are not familiar with Jerry Bergman, Ph.D., he was raised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and later earned a doctorate in psychology. He has written much that provides insights on the effects of being raised in the religion, as well as many other JW research articles.
Here are a few links for those who are interested. This site also contains articles by Ken Raines, who seems to have developed the site.

hey y'all,.
hope this works.
if not, see scanned article under the thread about donating books to the local libraries..
Simon Templar and Waiting,
When making that last post, I discovered that a web link paste at the beginning of a line (nothing typed before it) is not hot, but when I moved the link to the end of the sentence, then the link worked.
It was not necessary to place 'url' before the link for it to work, but that DOES work because ANYTHING typed before the link causes it to work.
Hope that helps.
p.s. When will we be able to do a search by Profile Name?
hey y'all,.
hope this works.
if not, see scanned article under the thread about donating books to the local libraries..
I have been checking out Beacon http://www.xjw.com/ but I don't see any articles by Ray Franz. Also, it does not seem to have a forum. However, there are many interesting articles on JW doctrine, etc.
I thought this article "Paradise on Earth - When?" was interesting. http://www.xjw.com/paradise.html

guess where i am?
.
i've posted this dunig the watchtower study at the hall using a mobile phone and a pocket pc - only a few strange looks from the people sat near.. i'll be glad when its time to go home - its' as boring as ever !
Simon,
We may have to start calling you Simon Templar (although I kind of liked Simon Says)! Did you ever watch "The Saint", an old TV series starring England's own Roger Moore? That was before he became Bond, James Bond.
p.s. What is the latest on how to post a web link here? Did I tell Waiting right?
hey y'all,.
hope this works.
if not, see scanned article under the thread about donating books to the local libraries..
Waiting,
Thanks for the info. Puppylove says she has seen the website "Beacon of Light for Former Jehovah's Witnesses." I will check it out. If I find Ray Franz there, I'll let you know. I wonder what profile he posts with?
p.s. did you leave a space between 'url' and the link 'http:// ...'? This has always worked when I have posted a link.

Simon,
I also couldn't help wondering what you were doing in the KH. But, as long as you are there, why not bring a web cam and do a live broadcast -- then we could all watch and shout out all the things we've been wanting to say at a meeting! Could you patch us (and our comments) into the PA system there? It might not be too hard if they use wireless mikes!
hey y'all,.
hope this works.

Waiting,
Just type the letters 'url' in front of any link you paste in. Then the link is 'hot' (may be clicked on).
Thanks for the links!
I have been wondering for a long time whether or not Ray Franz posts on any site or responds to email. I don't even know if he has a computer. Has anyone here ever tried to correspond with Ray Franz? If nothing else, I would like to express my genuine thanks and my indebtedness.
-
I just noticed after I posted this that my profile level is now 'Master Member'! Do I get a prize or something?? I only started posting on Sept. 8th! Does anyone here think that I'll ever catch up to Waiting? Will ANYONE ever catch up to Waiting?
-
My wife (puppylove) just told me that it is better to be a Master Member than a Master Debater -- I wonder what she meant by that??

Another link on Prince Michael of Albany. This is wild stuff!
url http://members.tripod.com/~PetraGrail/news.html
PRINCE MICHAEL OF ALBANY CLAIMS SCOTTISH THRONE AS STEWART HEIR
In a bold move, the head of the House of Stewart is claiming to be
the true heir of Scotland's Crown, and the descendent of Jesus & King
David (hence, Messiah?). He says Charles is not entitled to throne
of Britain, but supports William & Harold, Diana's sons. In his book,
THE FORGOTTEN MONARCHY OF SCOTLAND (published near 2000th anniversary
of the birth of Jesus), the 35-yr. old Michael formally claims to be
the rightful King of Scotland. He was chosen head of The European
Council of Princes in 1992. Prince Michael's claims were
detailed in BLOODLINE OF THE HOLY GRAIL by Laurence Gardner in 1996.
Since then the British Coronation Stone has been returned to Scot-
land & it has elected a parliament with Michael's behind-the-scenes
encouragement. He has drawn up a sample consitution and advocates
full Scottish independence, which will allow him to begin ruling as
King, if Scotland approves him. Few realize that Gardner is an
admitted member of "The Court of the Dragon," which claims David &
Jesus are heirs of Cain (and proud of it). They revile "Jehovah" and
defend Sodom & Gommorah as victims of His wrath. They advocate blood-
drinking (fresh menstrual blood) & eating the glandular secretions of
human brains. Their "Dragon" is the enemy of Jehovah, he says.
For more, see Oct/Nov '98 NEXUS magazine, pp. 29-34: "Star Fire:
The Gold of the Gods" by Gardner, Pt. 1 of 3 on these topics. This
spring Vol 2 of BLOODLINE series will appear: GENESIS OF THE GRAIL
KINGS: THE PENDRAGON LEGACY OF ADAM & EVE, which details their
gruesome beliefs.... For more on the true genesis of
such cannibalistic & vampiristic lusts, see the links below to the
LILITH pages in "SCORCHINGLY HOT."

I came across this and thought it was pretty funny. This guy claims that Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses are actually the same organization! But you may want to check out the good photographs of Charles Russell's tomb and pyramid monument. He might be right about Russell's association with Freemasons -- does anyone know anything about that?
