How can they possibly argue that these professors are wrong. They don't have any evidence to prove that, do they?

SMART they will come back with "the light gets brigher" and they will ask you if you believe this is Jehovah's organization and the governing body are Jehovah's sole channel of communication. Once you answer in the negative to either of these questions the next thing they will say is, we will establish a judicial committee based on charges of apostasy.
That is ridiculous. It reminds me of this...
"All the same, many even of the rulers actually put faith in him, but because of the Pharisees they would not confess [him], in order not to be expelled from the synagogue." (John 12:42)
I think it seems as though people are afraid of humiliation because they prefer the glory of men rather than the glory of God and the truth and the facts.

I have found a book which I bought about a year ago. It's called "The Rise And Fall Of Babylon - Gateway Of The Gods". In this history book it states clearly the date of 586 as when Jerusalem was destoryed. From what I understand there is not even a debate about this amoungst historians and scholars. Am I right in thinking that? Does anyone know off hand any credible quote from a professor or someone which I can show to the elders?

I always doubted that the Jehovah's Witnesses are Gods spirit directed organisation or the faithful and discreet slave or the only channel of communication with him or a prophet. I wasn't really aware of my doubts though. There is no proof to say they are what they claim to be. People believed Moses and Jesus because they were able to proove they were being used by God. Jehovah's Witnesses on the other hand DO NOT have any proof in the form of a sign or a miracle that they are God's appointed people. Now it's starting to look quite bad. I think I'm going out of my mind. I am seriously depressed.

Regardless of what happens with this girl, it doesn't matter. I'm free as far as I'm concerned and wow I can't believe how ignorant I have been these past few years just going along with all that the witnesses say without even questioning it, because we are discouraged from it!!! The bible even warns against blindly going along with putting faith in every word. The shrewd one considers his steps. That is what I am now doing and wow wow wow I'm learning more about the real truth every day. I am always here or on jw facts / surveys / .com / and other websites to find out all I can about the witnesses. It really is liberating and I am so relieved to be freeeeee!!!!!!!!! THANK GOD THESE WEBSITES EXSIST!
