I just got a phone call from the girl's dad. He is an Elder. He was very angry with me and told me I "have caused enough problems in this house already, so go find another sister to play with". I was very upset with him and upset because I do like her. I did not say anything back to him. I was speechless. I cried after he hung up and text her telling her I will never be able to see her again. My parents who are not witnesses think its not very christian at all and think he is horrible. It is horrible isn't it. MY dad said it will only back fire on him because his daughter will hate him for it. Me and her had a great connection. But now I know I am free. What a horrible day though. I am in emotional pain.

I dunno I'm not that 'smart' really! At least I know for myself anyway that its not true what they claim. If or when I do leave then where am I going to turn to? Do you guys still go to a different church or synagoue or something?

Sloppyjoe it's okay I am not offended by you, my friend. I appreciate what you are telling me.
Ann, I understand.
I don't know what to do.
I have to be true to myself whatever happens.
All I can say to them if I do say anything is that I bought a history book on Babylon and reading it didn't add up with what the Watchtower says.
If they ask the loyalty question then I could say "yes I think the GB is correct, but can you help me to find the truth about this."

I am going to be brave and present this year count of kings to the elders tomorrow. It's pretty straight forward i can see now. What will they likely say if i clearly show them this is correct?

How can they possibly argue that these professors are wrong. They don't have any evidence to prove that, do they?

SMART they will come back with "the light gets brigher" and they will ask you if you believe this is Jehovah's organization and the governing body are Jehovah's sole channel of communication. Once you answer in the negative to either of these questions the next thing they will say is, we will establish a judicial committee based on charges of apostasy.
That is ridiculous. It reminds me of this...
"All the same, many even of the rulers actually put faith in him, but because of the Pharisees they would not confess [him], in order not to be expelled from the synagogue." (John 12:42)
I think it seems as though people are afraid of humiliation because they prefer the glory of men rather than the glory of God and the truth and the facts.

I have found a book which I bought about a year ago. It's called "The Rise And Fall Of Babylon - Gateway Of The Gods". In this history book it states clearly the date of 586 as when Jerusalem was destoryed. From what I understand there is not even a debate about this amoungst historians and scholars. Am I right in thinking that? Does anyone know off hand any credible quote from a professor or someone which I can show to the elders?

Proverbs 14:15 states that "anyone inexperienced puts faith in every word, but the shrewd one considers his steps."
AnnOMaly you are very sweet.
I have been looking at this for a while now. I feel Ill. What will the elders come back with if I tell them about this?
