  How is Joe Publisher reacting to all the TV coverage on the abuse cases?

  i have had virtually no contact with any witnesses beside my mother for the past few years.

  she watches tv constantly and claims she has never seen anything on the watchtower abuse cases.

  Governing Body Member Stephan Lett Lies On JW.TV

  i thought it would be important to clearly point in the recent talk by governing body member stephan lett, that he did in fact deliberately lie concerning what he described as lies and false information by apostates, concerning the organization being permissive toward people in the organization who had been involved in pedophilia.

  the truth of the matter is thats exactly what the organization has been doing and perhaps for a long time.

  the recent candace conti law suit where she was awarded 28 million dollars was levied against the wts for its irresponsible behavior by the elders who gave no notification of the accused jonathan kendrick that he had been charged with pedophilia and spent months in jail for his actions .

  A coming out story to my mother.

  so i actually came out to my mother a few days ago.

  told her how i really felt about being a jw (jehovah's witness) and how i wasn't straight.

  i wasn't surprised by the disapproving response i got because really, i wasn't expecting any more.

  Is there anything about the JW's you still like?

  some jw's on various postingshave asked me was there anything about the jw's i still agree with.

  of course there are some things i agree with and some i partially do.

  1. political involvement - while i do not agree with totally avoiding anything associated with politics, i agree that many of todays churches are way too involved in trying to sway their constituents beliefs.

  I do still tend to believe that when you die you are dead--no ticket to heaven, no hell, and no eternal soul. I do not believe in a resurrection. There's a popular tv show now about what happens when the dead walk.

  i just wanna know why...after a thousand dang years, jehovah would even want to think about lettin go of the dude who started it all....satan.

  why?..

  like a thousand years is a long time, and people are supposed to be gettin perfect n stuff during this time, and the earth is supposed to be gettin all perfectionized.... so satan can f- - - it all up again?.

  HuffPo had an article in 2013 about Mormon women staging a 'wear pants to church' Sunday. Guess no sisters would dare coordinate such a bold protest.

  For the longest time after leaving, I refused to wear a skirt or dress. But over the last couple years, my hate for skirts has diminished, especially for maxi dresses that flaunt the girls! Who cares if I'm not particularly modest...nobody lives forever.

  the local newspaper ran a headline about child abuse by a priest, and she made a comment about the priests abusing kids again.

  without missing a beat, i said 'haven't you all been settling a lot of child sex abuse claims yourselves?

  i spent this last weekend with my mother, who is still in. The local newspaper ran a headline about child abuse by a priest, and she made a comment about the priests abusing kids again. Without missing a beat, I said 'haven't you all been settling a lot of child sex abuse claims yourselves?' She responded right back 'not that I'm aware of'. In the moment, I decided to leave it at that...maybe it will be enough of a tease that she'll Google it. I wanted to be super careful not to challenge her so much that she shut down.

  it's amazing how much my feeling towards her have changed since this site and all of your comments helped me realize that I don't dislike her...I love her. It's her religion I can't stand.
