Hi John and welcome!
If I could write a post, it would be a duplicate of Wing Commanders post. I would have had a "field day" with those photos. This organization is so full of BS and hypocrites.
We have been out for 2+ years. Wow...what a relief! Play your cards right and keep your mouth closed as much as possible. You may loose alot of friends and family (that is the negative part) but the freedom is incredible. You will feel more freedom than the usual rank and file member due to the organization "using you" so much.
We hope to hear more from you soon.

contemptus saeculi
by C.O.B.E.Beef inseveral months ago we had the visit of our c.o.
and his thursday night talked included rants covering several topics, with an especially long winded diatribe against "higher education".
he is pretty good speaker , and his choice of illustrations seemed to win an emotional response from the audience that ive never seen with regard to that subject.. he began the discussion with how concerned the governing body was with the decision some parents have made to send their kids to college.

I wonder if they would give us the stats on the young ones who went to Bethel (The House of God) and are "spiritually intact". It seems like going to Bethel is more like boarding the Titanic than going to College. It seems like ALOT of our young ones either leave or come home emotionally scarred after a short time at Bethel.
I love all these "Brothers" who give these talks and say it's the families and parents decision to send their kid to college and then they compare it to boarding the Titanic.
Make it a DF'ing offense or remove the Elders if they put their kid in college, see what happens then.
Worlds BIGGEST hypocrites. So glad we are free!!!!

Q-tips and Coffee Filters helped me learn TTATT
by RedPillPopper inwell they didn't fully teach me ttatt but helped me on the way.............. first thing i do in the morning after waking up is grinding some nice coffee beans and getting the brew started while i take a hot shower.
after the shower i like to clean out all the nasty wax out of my ears with a q-tip (or cotton swab for those not familiar with that term).. while cleaning out my ears i would think about how nice it is we have things like q-tips and coffee filters that make life more enjoyable but at the same time realize that somebody somewhere is in a factory making these.. i can't imagine a child saying "when i grow up i want to work in a factory making coffee filters".
the people who end up really doing that as adults did not set that to be a life goal.

"Dead Body Burial Duty?" lol
You couldn't get anybody to help clean the Bathrooms at the Kingdom Hall, much less clean up dead bodies.
Most of the Sisters wouldn't touch a toilet brush if their life depended on it and the important Elders had much more pressing issues to deal with.

Why I like Jehovah's Witnesses
by undercover witness ini keep reading that jehovah's witnesses are in effect monsters.
i keep reading that they kinda leave chaos and distrust in their wake.
so i simply wondered if anyone had anything nice to say about them?.

Typically an abuser can be VERY charming. Do some research (or better yet meet one) on a Narcissist. They can be VERY charming but once you spend time (or dedicate your life to them) they become abusive.
Most of us here have spent many years or our whole life with these people and they have affected our lives to a degree that someone who just happens to meet a witness can't understand. Try loosing your whole family and see how you feel then. So much damage has been done!
The hypocrisy of this organization is mind boggleing!
I try never to judge someone until I walk in their shoes.

This is a take, take, take organization. They give NOTHING back. Sad but true. -

I'm at a loss at how to get thru to my parents. I fear they will die before they will stop shunning me.
by cognisonance inall i want is this: for us to be a family, to spend time together enjoying life.
i don't wish to debate about their beliefs when together.
they can remain jws for all i care.

Sail Away.
That is a sad family story. I am sorry you have been treated so poorly.
You are a better person than I would be. After treating my family that way, those ungrateful Grandparents wouldn't NEVER hear or see my family.
It is truly unbelievable that these people can treat their very own family this way. They brag about how LOVING they are (makes me want to scream).
The sad thing about it is if the Grandparents need someone to care for them or to be put in an assisted living facility...the congregation or the Grandparents would then contact you to take care of the details. I have seen this happen alot in our area.
This is a take, not a give, organization.
You are in my thoughts. Hang in there.
