Discussing the RC with a friend and my JW wife was listening.
by Driving Force ini am fuming at the moment and my wife has made me so angry.. i live in germany and an ex jw, a friend of mine is also ex jw but does not understand english so i was giving him a rundown on the friday session of the rc with gj.
my wife was in another part of the house but heard my phone ring and so she came to listen, i did not realize this, because when the phone rang i closed two doors between myself and my wife.
she opened the first door and started listening to the conversation.

Driving force. Sorry about your current situation. If it was my spouse, I would recommend she watch both parts of Jackson's testimony. She can not claim it is from an apostate source? It gives her a chance for her to watch with her own eyes! A JW leader admit, under oath...that the org she love's, acknowledges that child abuse does occur.
If she did watch it, then I would remain silent. Wait until she wants to discuss it, if ever.
Send the video links to her email. She's a Witness, you know she want's to watch it!
DF, Hang in there...we are rooting for you!

The Royal Commission and Watchtower - A game changer
by Hidden-Window ini had finished watching all the videos on the royal commission's investigation of jehovah's witnesses (yes, i know more videos are being released).
i am still processing the information of everything that has emerged.
i do not plan to cover it all here, but i would like to point out that it is patently obvious that some of the wt representatives provided misleading information.

If (that's a big if) they will only change because they were forced to.
If that happens, the change was for the wrong reasons. Not because people have been hurt and devastated but because they were forced.

I watched Mr. Jackson last night with my super cult minded parents
by Magwitch ini have seen some ask on this site how the active jw's are handling what is happening in australia.
here is my little experience from last night........ my parents were baptized in the late 30's as children and have never faltered in their determination to survive the great tribulation and live forever in paradise (even though they actively associate with all their df'ed kids).
my father is still actively serving as an elder and my mother has always been by his side.

Once our family members reach a certain age, it's just not worth the fight. They have been indoctrinated for soooo long & they wouldn't know what to do without the TWOOF.
I know you feel the same way we do....carry on with your life, bite your tongue and have a glass of wine to deal with the frustration.
CHEERS!!

New Congregation Position Soon? ELDERESS?
by 7Starz ini just listened to most of geoffrey jackson's royal commission testimony and i have to say i really enjoyed the multiple times he had to state he would get back to them and would research their questions.. the royal commission was asking if policy could be changed to have women serve on a committee to decide the case and then that bodies decision be brought to the elders to decide whether to show mercy or to disfellowship and individual.
three times the judge had to ask mr. jackson to answer his question.. it was amazing how jackson could not find a scripture to show his honor that women were prohibited to serve as elders.
he could only support that men are appointed as elders.. hmm... i've never been a member of the governing body with all their years of so called spiritual training, but even i remember deborah the prophetess, when the judge asked jackson if women could serve as a judge.. i was so hoping that the judge or mr. stewart would refer to deborah.

It is so good to hear from you. We don't hear from you often enough. I remember reading about you and your wifes departure. You were quite "connected" within the org & we always enjoy reading your thoughts and experiences. It gives us hope that some of our "connected" family may one day depart.
I agree, the Elderess thing will NEVER happen. As Mr. Jackson (his holiness) explained, women are the Co Pilots NOT the pilot.

Look out for a new congregation position for elders wives: Helper to the Elders
by Splash ingeoffrey jackson spent 20 minutes accepting the position that it is not scripturally prohibited for women to be used in the investigation process, although probably not the jc itself (he said he'd check the scriptures on that bit, but we can guess the outcome).. look out for the wives of elders jostling for and gaining these positions.
there will be no better opportunity for gossip mongers to raise their status in the congregation than being officially involved in the intimate private business of others in the congregation.. think of the power they will have in advising the elders on a jc if she thinks the victim is credible, with her opinion, bias and embellishments on the details.
i wouldn't fancy the chances of a victim who has previously fallen out with one of these 'helpers'.. whatever next, sisters handling microphones??!

The funny thing about it is we would never go to one of these "spiritual leaders", no matter who they are (man or woman) . Never have, never will. We don't trust any of them. -

What are JWs saying about the Royal Commission?
by LexIsFree ini am wondering if there are any pro-jw blogs/sites that any of you visit and whether or not jws are aware of what is going on in australia.
also, what is there reaction to it?
(i may already know the answer to that last question.

2007 Awake mentions Child Abuse in Australia!
by SG098 inin the october 2007 awake!
page 11, the b0rg had the audacity to say this concerning child sexual abuse: "sadly, though, most of such [child abuse] crimes go unpunished by authorities today.
in australia, for example, it has been estimated that only 10 percent of offenders are prosecuted, and few are convicted.

The most amazing thing to me, is that the majority of JW's (uber) don't see this.
Most do not even know what is happening with the RC in Australia. We mentioned it to someone who has a lot of connections in NY (Beth Hell) and they did not even know what is going on. Even if they did, they would just blame it on Satans influence!

Witness behavior in my gym ....
by SecretSlaveClass inabout two months ago two very attractive ladies in their mid 30's signed on at one of the gyms i belong to.
for a while i noticed them watching me and naturally i assumed they were taking an interest in how i went about training my clients since many do before they decide to approach me and inquire about my services (i own a health and fitness consultancy).. sure enough one of them approached me a few weeks back and asked me for a business card, inquired about rates and various other aspects involved with signing on with me.
i handed her a card and explained that my client schedule was full but she should consider signing on with one of my personal trainers who still had some open spots available.

I bet she get's in plenty of hours in Field Serve Us and has her hand up for every other comment. Seen the type before.
We know of a "Sister" who was DF'd for cheating on her husband (VERY attractive sister). Not only was she cheating she was sending naked photos of herself to this dude she was doing. She was DF'ed for 6 months. Went to the Brothers to be reinstated and they immediately reinstated her . 6 months? Something tells me someone did some favors for the "Spiritual shepherds." lol
Things that make ya go....Hmmm!
