i have had time to think about this........... i was an attendent for many years.......... and looking up and down the rows at every family that was seating there in the khs........... no one was happy!.
i think of my mother (who brought this religion into our house)......she was one of the most unhappy and miserable people you would ever meet!
she was a spiritual orphan with few friends and no real family to speak of.. she got the "good news" back in 1950, that "the world" was a bad place and god, would soon be killing most everyone......she was thrilled!...............
Can you blame them all? They have been promised countless times that they would be in Paradise. No paradise is here. I believe some of them really don't believe it anymore. They have taken everyone's hope away. It's like telling your kid you are taking them to Disney for many years and you never do. After a while they do not believe you.
We see so many people who are depressed and some who can't even get out of bed. So much for the happiest people on earth.

During a talk I found online. Anthony Morris III was giving a talk regarding higher education. He spoke about a spiritual education because it is "superior" and leads to everlasting life. Well, he goes on with the doom and gloom talk about how the parents put the kid in college and all of a sudden (drum roll) the kid stops attending meetings. The parents come to the Brothers and say, "why didn't you do more for my son/daughter?" He replies in the talk...."who dropped em off there?"
This one really got to me. What a smug, arrogant, self righteous ass!
Whatever happened to seasoning your words with salt Brother Morris? You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.
And they wonder why donations are down and people are flying the coup!
Then he gave a talk this summer about not judging our Brothers. What the hell! You just can't make this stuff up!
in about 1980 i came to know of and meet one time with lawrence onoda, ph.d., a jehovah's witness psychologist [also i think elder] in southern california.
i was shocked to know there was such a thing in view of the wts traditional stance against jws consulting such a person!
he had been one of jws for six years at that time, i recall.
'They were basically finished, and stood up to go to the door. I said something like, “Don’t you want to know my reasons for this?” It was obvious they really were not interested in the reason. [I was stunned and felt ill inwardly as I realized this was the case."
They didn't want to know the reason why. They just wanted the simple answer, Yes or No, so they could run back to the BOE and prepare the noose to hang you. That's what it is all about. We have some close friends who are considered remote Bethelites. Guess what? They had to BUY THEIR OWN COMPUTERS!
My company provides me with a paycheck, benefits, a cell phone and guess what...a computer. Any they pay me!
How crazy is that? These people not only volunteer their time, give up their life and give donations, they have to pay for it themselves.

Flipper, it is funny you mention this. We have 2 uber Elders in our family (very close relatives) that could care less what happens to their family. It's ALL about them!

Here is a photo from the 2015 yearbook. The photo was the audience attending the annual meeting. I would assume many of the older ones are from bethel. Maybe someone on here knows who gets these front row tickets. Rank and file or Bethelites?
