I wish I could help you but since leaving the WT, I don't know what to believe anymore. How can I trust one belief system when everything I believed in all my life was a lie.

by pale.emperor inwell, thats it folks.. my identity on here has been rumbled and reported to the elders.
someone, somehow, has figured out that im a member of this site and - rather than speak to me - has promptly reported me to the elders.
i just feel sad for my daughter.

"How fast a life can change due to those idiots. Scary!! In a few days, your life, your world, your private thinking, collapse into a emotional nightmare. A McDrive for losing all you have."
G is so right here. Where else in your life does anyone or anything have such unbelievable control over the most important thing in ones life (your family)?
Well, to all you lurkers and ones that feel trapped due to this bulling that WT inflicts on others. Take what means the most to WT....MONEY! VOTE WITH YOUR WALLETS!

Pale emperor - It was your sister in law that invaded your personal privacy, used your laptop and snooped around on your browser. Unfortunately, she is the one that will be seen as a hero in the congregation. From a human stand point...she is a dishonest piece of scum. She knew what would happen to you and your family by taking this information to the Elders. Yet, she did not have common courtesy to approach you first...she did her JW obligation and ratted you out. This will only elevate her status in the congregation. However for you and your family you will be shunned and your family will have to suffer the repercussions. Remember who she really is...a back stabbing home wrecker. Never to be trusted again! This is from Mr. Toes.

"My mum called me. She's the most hard-core believer (the kind that thinks Elders families are holier than all of us mortals.) She said straight away she's not gonna shun me. She did try and reason with me and so did my sisters but they're not shunning me either."
What this tells me is that your mom and sisters don't believe this sh*t (shunning) either. Be prepared. Once the Elders, Regional Convention, etc., get a hold of your family and lay on the guilt, things could change. The rank and file are NOT listening to the GB crap anymore. Why do you think so many families are not joining in on the shunning and so many are sending their kids off to college? The organization is loosing it's grip. That is why the Loyalty convention has been lovingly provided. lol
Hang tight PE. Don't give the Elders control. They want it, but DON'T give it to em. It seems like you are doing what is right for YOU. Keep us posted.

That good old JW rumour mill
by punkofnice inbecause i simply decided the watchtower corporation wasn't the truth(tm) i was da'd in a secret jc that i didn't attend.
i was writing songs with a friend that day instead.. jws wasted no time in labelling me as an evil villain.
the rumours abounded.. i was labelled as 'a false prophet'.

"I wonder if the people who slandered her while she was dying felt at all bad after she was gone."
A JW ever admitting that they were wrong? Ha...NEVER! They show up for the funeral and hit the free buffet after the service. They all share the JW quote of the day..."we'll see them again soon." As soon as it is all over, it's life as usual. Until it happens to THEM!

Love....JW style! It is sad and unfair that they even questioned you without 100% proof. It is typical. I have just three words for you...RUN LIKE HELL!

Who are the "Inactive"?
by thereishope inthis was my starting point in this journey of rediscovery, and i've made great strides, but here i am again asking the same question.
all this talk re the rc and the shunning of the inactive ones.
there is no announcement made obviously about "shun sister so-and-so, as she is inactive.

I told my spouse before we decided to fade that we can not complain when we get shunned. We wanted our "friends" to leave us alone. We wanted to start a new non JW life. It still is disturbing that not one of my female friends or relatives have not tried to even contact me. Does it hurt? To me, it is just disturbing. I mean, this is supposed to be your very life at stake (that is what was drilled into our heads all of our lives) and they have not even tried to call. But that is what we wanted. Right?
If you watch the shunning video that they will be showing at the RC. It's all about how much the daughter hurt THEM. It's all about THEM and that will NEVER change.

It's funny how they always assume that once you "leave" you are not happy. We have been out for 3+ years and never been happier.
You did a great job with your response.

"I really thought that the organization would take a softer view of inactive ones, i.e. encouraging them to come back to the meetings."
My 2 cents on this....I thought that too but we think the inactive ones are giving the still ins an earful. Directing them to research the failed predictions (i.e. generation change, 607, 1914, etc.), also sharing what happened with the Australian Royal Commission last year. Telling a JW not to look at the internet is like telling an Elder not to look at porn. lol The inactive ones and the internet are ripping this wide open. The ones that are stuck in due to family and friends are not contributing anymore. They have tapped everyone dry. As they say..."the natives are getting restless."

More Fear, obligation and guilt. They are really increasing it. What a sad way to make people show any love and respect for you.
I can't imagine my spouse using fear to keep me loyal to him. That is NO WAY to maintain/keep a relationship.
