The interesting thing is, how many other law suits are there and how many more could possibly be filed. If this $4000 fine happens in many other cases that come up, it could add up for WT. WT has been setting this up for a long time (bunker videos, shunning talks, etc). They have set it up to pull the persecution card when they need it. It will be the only card they can play when the child abuse law suits hit them between the eyes. The GB and there fancy lawyers really know what is going on. I believe a sh*t storm is coming for WT and they know it. The rank and file are oblivious and just keep following them like robots.

Judge sanctions WTS - $4k per day penalty for not producing sex abuse documents
by Simon injudge sanctions jehovah's witnesses.
imposes $4000-a-day penalty for not producing documents in sex-abuse case.
by dorian hargrove, june 24, 2016. a san diego superior court judge has ordered the church of jehovah's witnesses, also known as the watchtower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, to pay $4000 a day for every day that it fails to produce documents requested in a civil lawsuit brought by former parishioner, osbaldo padron, who claims a church elder sexually abused him when he was seven years old.. in a june 23 ruling, expected to be made final today, judge richard strauss admonished the church for willfully ignoring a court order to produce all documents associated with a 1997 body of elders letter that church leaders sent to parishes around the world in a quest to learn about sexual abuse of children by church leaders.. over the course of the past year, the watchtower society and its lawyers have fought hard to keep the letter confidential, claiming that turning over the documents would infringe on the privacy of those mentioned in the letter that were not associated with the case.. in march 2015, the church turned over a heavily redacted version of the letter.

List of "pagan" things JW's allow
by problemaddict 2 inwhat i'm looking for specifically is things that are "pagan" in the sense they predate christianity (or i guess judiasm to cover the ole mosaic code), that jw's allow or do.
the ones that come to mind are below.. rings - rings seem to originate in egypt.
for wedding ceremonies it became a symbol of "ownership" in rome.. pinatas - looks like possibly it originated in china as a part of the new year and a request for luck, and catholics later turned it into a beating of temptation type thing.. anything else?.

Jehovah protects his people. Did he ever protect you?
by TimeBandit inhello forum.
i started this topic because i had been thinking recently about a story that i had heard many times in different congregations over the years.
kind of a jw urban legend if you will.

If Jehovah protects us from harm than why do we also read the scripture that states, "Because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all?"
How can you have it both ways, Jah protects us but then bad things happen to everyone? Contradiction here?
Jehovah brings in sand during a storm for a Kingdom Hall build but several killed in a bus accident in Florida (on their way to a convention). Really? Maybe I'm missing something here.

Raising Concerns To My Wife - Success!!
by pale.emperor inin case you havent read any of my previous posts the situation is im in the process of fading, my wife's dad is an elder and has the annoying habit of telling the body of elders anything and everything my wife tells him in confidence.
over the years she's started to see how we can tell her parents anything.
weather it be worries we have, music we listen to, movies we watch, decisions we make regarding our child etc.. anyway.

It's amazing how much JW's DON'T know about their own religion. We didn't either a few years back. It's amazing all the things you learn when you leave.
PE...it went well but if she spills all of this to her Daddy, you will be DF'd but then again you DA'd so the outcome will be the same. You will learn soon who's side your wife will take. I hope she sticks with you. Keep us posted.

someone, somehow, has figured out that im a member of this site and - rather than speak to me - has promptly reported me to the elders.
i just feel sad for my daughter.

"Unless you have admitted this was you, you must threaten a lawsuit against your inlaw, and the congregation, if they proceed against you using stolen information.
Your inlaw hacked you unlawfully; this is invasion of privacy.
Get the elders to agree to back off, or you will pursue charges against them and your inlaw.
See an attorney asap."
I like this suggestion.

I wish I could help you but since leaving the WT, I don't know what to believe anymore. How can I trust one belief system when everything I believed in all my life was a lie.

"How fast a life can change due to those idiots. Scary!! In a few days, your life, your world, your private thinking, collapse into a emotional nightmare. A McDrive for losing all you have."
G is so right here. Where else in your life does anyone or anything have such unbelievable control over the most important thing in ones life (your family)?
Well, to all you lurkers and ones that feel trapped due to this bulling that WT inflicts on others. Take what means the most to WT....MONEY! VOTE WITH YOUR WALLETS!

Pale emperor - It was your sister in law that invaded your personal privacy, used your laptop and snooped around on your browser. Unfortunately, she is the one that will be seen as a hero in the congregation. From a human stand point...she is a dishonest piece of scum. She knew what would happen to you and your family by taking this information to the Elders. Yet, she did not have common courtesy to approach you first...she did her JW obligation and ratted you out. This will only elevate her status in the congregation. However for you and your family you will be shunned and your family will have to suffer the repercussions. Remember who she really is...a back stabbing home wrecker. Never to be trusted again! This is from Mr. Toes.
