June 2017 Watchtower - Jehovah's Sovereignty is at stake if you disagree with us
by Listener infour years ago the watchtower made the following demand.
all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.
they are not content with obedience and in the upcoming june watchtower they have this to say -15. how does respect for theocratic headship reveal our love for jehovah’s way of ruling?15 what is our response to divinely authorized headship?

Three congregations dissolved and a kingdom hall sold within a 50 mile radius in my area...
by UNCONDITIONAL LOVE inhas anyone else heard of these situations with congregations and halls in your area?
i thought the ground breaking mandatory pledge a little while ago was to keep up with "immense" growth?
how soon they forget... looks really bleak for the future of the wbats, the jw gravy train seems to be coming to a slow and agonizing yet inevitable stop.

Love your comments above Flipper. WT is showing their true colors. Most will follow blindly BUT some are seeing right through it. WT is truly worried! It's a good thing!

Becoming the average JW (and what I found out about the average 'Joe Witness')
by Skepsis inuntil a couple of months ago i was an uber-spiritual pioneer, only having association with other pioneers, elders and others who would fill in the category i classified as "spiritually acceptable" friends.. but since stopping pioneering and having more time to think about my doubts and what i really believe (or better said, what i no longer believe), i have started getting to know other less spiritual brothers and sisters of the area.
in fact, my old friends are starting to forget me quite quickly, i must say.
so, i guess my next move in fading is becoming what i call the average witness.. and what did i discover?

My spouse and I were the average JW's (so were our kids). We weren't part of the "special club." We called ourselves "losers." It was a joke between us. We were never invited to the JW weddings or much of anything else. Even our wonderful Brother Anthony Morris said in his famous talk that if you are not a MS before the age of 23 that you are not good marriage material. Why stick around where you are not wanted? Much much happier NOW! Why is that? We were told we would be miserable! NOT SO!

Do JWs Regard You As An APOSTATE?
by minimus ini doubt people consider me an apostate but you never know.🤓.

I hope so! Lol Even if you were not, they would make up a story. Typical JW style. The beautiful thing is...my spouse and I slept in this morning and will enjoy a walk this evening to see the beautiful sunset. Sucks to be them!

Welcome! I loved your story. There really is no easy way to leave this cult. My spouse and I have not been to a meeting in almost 4 years. We wonder sometimes what is going on in the inside. This gives us so much hope that even the Elders see this for what it is. Thank you!

Are the J.W's reaching a "Tipping point"?
by karter ini haven't been to a meeting in 15 years but my mother and sister are hard as j.w's.
the brothers they are appointing elders are at best suspect like one guy from my old hall made elder, big time drug used before becoming a j.w his talks are all over the place and would have struggled to make m,s years ago but with at least 60 to 70 % of young ones leaving the pool to pick from is at best reduced.. 2 other recent elders both young and zero life experience both on benefits one not well at all falls asleep all the time.. the decent, kind elders mostly older and are decent people with alot of life experience are burning out fast as there are so few of them left like 3 per congro of 100 publishers.. then you have the rich elders who wouldn't ever think of inviting some poor older or mis-fit person out to the expensive placers they go to as they couldn't afford to go so they are above the r&f and the r&f get pissed off with them.
then we have the ones who have "put the kingdom 1st" who are now old worn out and barely getting by from welfare cheque to welfare cheque that are saying "the system should have been over many years ago" it's still here and they are struggling everyday.. then there are the pioneers who have a low payed reduced hour job that seem to think anyone who has anything is totally materialistic and looks down on anyone getting a new car buying a house ect.. along with the child abuse issues, the generation change, access to information the the g.b don't want anyone to know ,not to mention the issues around blood.. is there a tipping point coming????

'I think you have pretty much hit the nail on the head. The good elders no longer want to be elders due to the politics of the watchtower, leaving this wide open for the many narcissistic sociopaths becoming elders.'
Glad someone bumped this thread. We have experienced the above. All that there will be left is narcissistic/sociopath Elders and they will eventually feed off of the other Elders that have the same traits. It will be interesting and entertaining to watch.
The ones we know only stay for the socialization and the admiration.

The sly tactics the elders are using to malign my name!
by stuckinarut2 ini have had it confirmed now, that since stopping attending over 18 months ago, the elders have set out to deliberately ruin my name and character .. they have been talking to every witness from the local area and saying things like "be careful of him, he has the ability to implant thoughts in your minds, and he only pretends to be kind and caring".
so, all i have to say to them is, "bravo!
if that is the method you want to employ, you have reached the very depths of bad behaviour!".

My spouse and I believe someone is trashing our name. Does it hurt or bother us? Maybe a little. We only want those in our lives who want to be there. We are still the same, funny, good hearted and generous people BUT (big but here), we don't believe the JW religion anymore. This has caused some (most) to have no contact with us. We enjoy each others company and have a few "worldly" friends. It's ok...we'll get by and enjoy those who appreciate our company and we appreciate theirs.
Sorry Stuck. What these people do to one another is disturbing. You, or anyone else, does not deserve being treated like that.

Another Burnt Out Elder
by Spoletta inyoung elder(mid-thirties) in my congregation stepped down last night.
nicest guy, with two lovely kids, a great supportive wife.. it got to be too much, as the other elders are practically useless, let him do all the hard work, while they did all the "important" stuff.
literally ran him ragged.. he's still in good standing, gave the final prayer.

" I think only the bullies and egomaniacs in the BOE's can survive...but is this the way the flock wants to subject themselves to the loving care of the GB?"
My spouse and I have had countless discussions regarding this. If all there is left is "bullies and egomaniacs", they will eventually start feeding off of one another.
From what we are observing, instead of relying on Jehovah, JW's are relying on their Pharmacist and local liquor store.
Wifi posted a letter regarding not having enough qualified Brothers to give the Memorial talk. When has this ever been a problem? A video is now an option for the JW's most holy night.
My...how things are changing!
