  my judicial committee was set for monday.

  the message says to call back asap and that he loves me, but he said it like "i love ya, girl" he never has said that to me like that.

  so, i call back and he says i have been a hard person to get a hold of and that confused me because i had not received any calls from him.

  So sorry you had to experience this. It hurts.

  The fact that your Dad put the Elders on the phone and actually seemed to be enjoying the moment is disturbing. He showed his true colors. I believe I would keep away from that traitor.

  The sad part is that one day when he becomes a old man and the loving congregation is tired of taking care of him, they will actually have the balls to call upon you. My advise....DON'T ANSWER.

  These stories just make me pine for the day this cult has to pay for what they have done to people's lives.

  We have a close friend who was screwed over by WT. He was devastated. You would think he would wake up and leave. What did he do? Went back for more. Now, he is more uber in the cult than he was before. Go figure!!

  I agree with flipper, virtually impossible to wake some up!

  so i sent a letter outlining the scriptures that support shunning versus the 3 times as many that support not shunning.

  this is the below response that i received.

  i will be announced tomorrow night and wanted them to know since that is the fair and adult thing to do.

  These stories are heart breaking. It amazes me how many people are leaving the cult. WT is really stressing the shunning. Worried much WT? Gotta shut up the "apostates", they are waking people up. Keep up the good work!

  Either on here or another forum, I read someone said it looked like a "carnival." What a perfect way to describe the scenes shown.

  I'm all for having fun but we were raised in a era where it was pounded into us that everything was done "with decency and by arrangement." We were not allowed to play a "worldy" song at our wedding. We were not allowed to dance and sing at the KH or assembly hall. It is so weird to see all this entertainment @ these events. It's kind of like pulling up to a local assembly hall and seeing the blood drive bus/mobile there. WTF? The organization is not the same one we were raised in.

  Holiday field service

  today is 4th of july in my part of the world- the us- and i was reflecting how we were strongly encouraged when we were still in to go out in the ministry on holidays.

  i just mentioned this memory to my husband and we reflected on how cult like this was.

  anyone else have thoughts on this?

  My Elder father NEVER went out in serve us on holidays. He always thought it was disrespectful. If he was assigned to lead the group, he would do so and then go home. He was very vocal to the ones who met in the group that he did not go out on holidays. He was one of the last decent Elders.
