Why attack?
by newqatarjob inas someone brought up as a jw and been an elder and been disfellowshipped (twice!!!
) i find it difficult to understand why ex jws have to attack the religion, yes religion, not cult or sect.
i am no longer disfellowshipped just do not want to practice anymore.

Welcome!
There are so many on the board who have had so many different experiences. So many bad experiences and it has had an incredible impact on their lives (and their families). So many wounds that may never heal. When you stand by and watch someone else struggle with their issues they are dealing with it is easy to judge. When some of those same issues hit you, it can change your perspective 100%. I never judge...you never know the journey someone else has had to endure.
Just my 2 cents.

My 10 year old son almost Outed me as when someone showed him a Watchtower! "The Generation that won't die"

" sitting in my office, he saw it and being the voracious reader he is, he asked me "why did the magazine say all those people would never die?
" i told him "humans make mistakes, they were wrong by claiming that.

For the older ones on here. Do you remember the Etch A Sketch? The org should start printing on that. When they want to make a change they just shake the Etch A Sketch and re write. There will be a lot of shaking going on! lol -

Nature of the Word "Spiritual" Amongst Witnesses
by freemindfade ineven as an atheist i consider myself spiritual, always have, metaphysics and spiritual discussions about enlightenment and so on i find interesting, even if belief in a yhwh is not in me.
i want to propose this simple definition of the word "spiritual" among jehovah's witnesses.. spiritual = indoctrination or indoctrinated.
i have been told how i'm "just not a spiritual man".

Spiritual ='s Field Serve Us (# of hours you get), pioneering, reaching out to become a MS or Elder, Baptism (the earlier the better), assemblies, attending Bethel, being a part of the RBC (or whatever they call it today). A showy display. It doesn't matter what is in your heart as long as your actions can be observed by others. It's one big competition! We left the competition. They can all just WOW one another now! -

I know...it is hard to believe how much effort these people will put to "help" (there definition of help) strangers but not their own family. It is incredible and sad.
Welcome to this site. It is a great place to vent. We all understand how you feel. I used to think it was me until I started reading other posts. It's not you. By reading other posts you will come to find out what this "loving organization" does to innocent people.
