Family Reuinion and Being Disfellowshipped (sorry...but it's long)

it has been a long looong time since i posted on here, but never ceased reading all the posts and keeping up on the changes that have been going on!

but it just seems that now i have a need to get something off my chest, and this is the one place that will most definitely understand the topic at hand.

i have been disfellowshipped for about 8yrs now, and have dealt with the 'consequences' of that decision: all my so-called friends in the org left and i was also abandoned by my own family.

This is a sad story. It is hard to believe that parents can completely turn on their own child.

I heard a story of a childhood friend (she is an only child) who was DF'd and all are shunning her. Now her parents are elderly, sickly and in need of some physical and financial help. One of the Brothers said they are trying to "track down" the daughter. The part that sickens me is they have treated her as if she is dead UNTIL they NEED her help. These people have NO shame!

You sound like you have a great bf. Hang on to him for strength. Let your parents (they don't even deserve to be called that) go. As much as it breaks your heart. They showed their true colors to your entire family. A BIG hug to you and your bf!

Cedar's makes some very good points. It would be nice to see the org. Go away completely. However, to many folks are in to deep and to invested to give up hope now!

I am hoping for 50 to 60% reduction worldwide. Of course when the numbers start to slip...the WT will spin or stop sharing the data.

I believe allowing Internet access to the rank and file...is coming back to bite them? All the little old sisters now have a tablet. People are finding the "bad" websites and seeing the negative news articles. They are active JW's, they have to snoop! Now they can do it in private on their PC, tablet or smart phone.

I believe the zone meeting rant from Tony Morris did a lot of damage. It exposed the GB as man made rule makers to 1.1 million publishers in 1 weekend. The GB really blew the chance to have a Historic event. Instead the only memories? 1 older out of touch leader, worried about Tight pants. Really?

Demoted from elder to MS, anybody ever heard of this?

so a friend in a nearby hall told me their co came through, and in a hellish week of long meetings and inquisition overhauled the boe.

only one remains as elder, three were re-appointed as ms, and one, the cobe was deleted entirely.. two new elders were brought in as new secretary and cobe / watchtower conductor, respectively, and introduced to the congregation from the platform on sunday immediately following his second talk.

he reminded everybody of the authority he has and then named the new appointees.

The ironic thing is uncaring CO's are removing uncaring Elders. Hmmm!!!
