It was not meant for me to read? OH....I am shaking in my boots.
Ok, all my buddies on here... help me repeat it.
I WILL NOT FEED THE TROLLS, I WILL NOT FEED THE TROLLS, I WILL NOT FEED THE TROLLS! LOL
this weeks meeting under the section - living as 'christians', starts off with 'repentance makes a difference', which is a talk given by an elder taken from w06 11/15 27-28 par 7-9. in a nut shell it discusses those who have been disfellowshipped and then show repentance.
it then goes on to discuss reinstatement and how a certain amount of time must pass by before this can take place.
it makes the following point in the paragraph.. 'a disfellowshipped person is not automatically accepted back into the congregation after a certain amount of time has passed.

"If they commit a sin they face the same consequences as any John Pub would."
Oh, Really? Not according to the Shepherd the Flock Book, page 38.
"If it comes to light or an appointed brother confesses that he has committed a disfellowshipping offense years in the past: The body of elders may determine he can continue to serve if the following is true: The immorality or other serious wrongdoing occurred more than a few years ago, and he is genuinely repentant, recognizing that he should have come forward immediately when he sinned. (Perhaps he has even confessed to his sin, seeking help with his guilty conscience.) He has been serving faithfully for many years, has evidence of God's blessing, and has the respect of the congregation."
Looks to me as if these sinners get a Get out of Jail free card. The double standards are incredible in this organization and if you don't see it you are completely BLIND!
I have watched several young family members and friends get PR and DF'd and the same did not apply to them. I have never shared this above info to a family member but I believe one day I will. Try explaining this quote to the ones who were punished. This is the stuff that is kept confidential and is not to be seen by the congregation. You see, if Brother Elders kids gets PR'd or DF'd, Daddy knows all the inside scoop with the Elders instruction book. The average publisher and parents of a minor is not privy to this info. The kid/adult goes to the Elders with his/her heart in the hand, thinking they will have their "head greased with oil" but they walk out with their mouths hanging open. They don't know what hit em. We have witnessed this first hand and to say the publishers get the same treatment as the Elders/GB is BS.
This is the stuff the lurkers on here need to know.

"If you commit a grevious error you are subject to public punishment from the body of elders.
If Watchtower leadership commits a grievious error, they are not punished nor do they face any consequences."
Correct...you get DF'd if YOU make a mistake but when it's THEM...."it's an organization made up of imperfect men." How many times do we hear that one. It's a cop out!
I don't buy it! Double standards are a common theme with the JW's. Too many contradictions to even keep up with.
i belonged to this forum for about 5 years ; 14 years ago and made many good online friends here.. it became my new family for awhile and i am very grateful for all the help i received.. for the first time in 10 years i went into a kh for a funeral, bearing in mind it was at the hall where my husband had been the presiding overseer and regular pioneer for many many years.. they were very surprised that i remembered all their names and was confident and happy.. someone said so are you back in the truth, i said simply !
yes i have my truth, thanks.. the elder in question said " well time will tell ?
"and i said yes it has hasn't it, but we aren't in competition..
"They hate it when you are happy and confident.
the only thing they want to hear is that you're miserable/suffering somehow."
You are 100% correct with this statement.
ever noticed how co's and ex-do's never say thank you for the hard earned money they get from the friends?
they truly believe they are entitled to live an easy life at the expense of others.
this makes my blood boil!
i read on a jw forum that jw's came in for disapproval if they drove either sports cars or 2-door cars.
the reasoning was that a driver couldn't easily take fellow dubbies out preaching in such a vehicle.
was that ever official policy or just local nonsense from a grumpy po?.
The only reason they "advise" you to buy a 4 door is because they are jealous and would love to have one themselves. So they label you materialistic. Remember, anything fun and enjoyable is frowned upon. Just another rule in the JW world.
Buy the 2 door! Have fun and enjoy it, if you can afford it.
i have had time to think about this........... i was an attendent for many years.......... and looking up and down the rows at every family that was seating there in the khs........... no one was happy!.
i think of my mother (who brought this religion into our house)......she was one of the most unhappy and miserable people you would ever meet!
she was a spiritual orphan with few friends and no real family to speak of.. she got the "good news" back in 1950, that "the world" was a bad place and god, would soon be killing most everyone......she was thrilled!...............
Can you blame them all? They have been promised countless times that they would be in Paradise. No paradise is here. I believe some of them really don't believe it anymore. They have taken everyone's hope away. It's like telling your kid you are taking them to Disney for many years and you never do. After a while they do not believe you.
We see so many people who are depressed and some who can't even get out of bed. So much for the happiest people on earth.
today marks the 1 year anniversary of the release of my second book, "escape from paradise".
i wanted to take the time to thank everyone here who was supportive of this book and for all the great feedback i received on it.
you guys rock.. of course, not all the feedback was pleasant.
Looks like you were dealing with a real "rocket scientist." Lol
while attending a week long training class for elders in patterson, bro losch gave the concluding talk about loyalty to the borg, which i was in awe of(i went more in detail in a recent post about a s.a.d.
where losch was the speaker).
at the end of his talk, here's what he said: .

Brock, my spouse and I, really enjoyed reading your book. My hope for 2016. Bethelites
being sent home with no status or money, will write their stories about their life in God's
House.
