My cat died suddenly!
by Fisherman ini did not realize that they were symptoms that something was wrong with my cat -but i did notice that my cat was breathing a little differently for a period of about a few days.
i also noticed prior and after to that, that on occasion, my cat would cry at the litter box, but that was a very seldom event.. anyway, about a week ago i noticed the symptom that my very loved cat was breathing heavy.
so i called a taxi and i was going to rush him to emergency room for cats.

So sad Fisherman. Your pets become part of your family. So sorry for your loss. -

The Forgotten Ones
by ToesUp injust curious...is anyone hearing the older/infirm ones speaking out to others on how they are being treated in the congregation?
without giving anything away, i have spoken to so many older ones (some are sickly or can't drive in the evening or can't drive at all) who can't make it to all the meetings, assemblies, etc., that are complaining on how they are being treated by the more righteous ones in the hall.
the ones i have spoken to make the comment that it seems to be the younger elders that have less empathy and concern for these ones.

I have heard soooo many admit they no longer donate. They either can't or won't. -

We can't say Gee, Gosh or Gee whiz? But we have no problem with Bible readings with children present that discuss Lot sleeping with his daughters, Noah dancing drunk and naked and producing disgusting videos regarding masterbation? You just can't make this sh*t up! -

It's the Hitler mentality..."you must be punished." If you can't make it to the meetings, tough sh*t! Can you feel the love? -

The ones I have spoken to make the comment that it seems to be the younger Elders that have less empathy and concern for these ones. They just don't understand it and are even suffering from depression due to the lack of love. Whatever happened to watching over the older ones in the congregation? The empathy seems to be diminishing or gone. Sad!
Good grief, even the evil non JW's (lol) have meals on wheels, so some of these ones don't starve. The JW's don't even seem to be able to give some loving encouragement to these ones. I was raised in a family that taught, you take care of your own and even look out after friends and neighbors. What the hell is happening?

Translation: "You don't want to make the GB/Watchtower look bad, do you?"
Just another one of the JW catch phrases. I think they have a book of catch phrases they refer to:
"They are imperfect men."
"Proper food at the proper time."
"Leave it in Jehovahs hands."
"Waiting on Jehovah."
The list goes on and on.

1974 Special Meetings
by NeonMadman inas we all know, armageddon was just around the corner in 1974. at the district conventions that year, it was announced that there would be two special meetings during the month of september; one would be for interested people (e.g., bible studies, family members, inactive, etc.
), and the other would be for baptized publishers.
these were to be held in place of the service meetings for the two weeks, iirc.

Disfellowshipped for celebrating Xmas?
by Theburstbubble ini could really do with some advice on what's acceptable when you leave.
we have left of our own accord about 6 months ago.
we didn't celebrate xmas this year but have just celebrated my daughters birthday.. a friend of mine who is still a witness told me that an elder had approached her and asked if we had celebrated xmas and that if we did it was a df offence as is classed as apostasy!

"You just want to live your life and move on but even when you leave they are not done with you are they? "
There are different types of Elders: The ones who know that they now need to leave you the hell alone, the lazy elders who only care about checking off the box that they tried visiting/calling you, to keep the CO off their ass. The Elders that know this is a crock of sh*t and are happy you are out. Then there is the vindictive, power hungry Elders who will try and go after you and finish you off. We had a close relative that tried this. It's amazing the tactics they will try using. If you know what they are up to before they even try, you can have a little fun with them. I did...it was great!

Does anyone think Jehovah is protecting the org. despite all the talk about THE ARC ?
by tor1500 ini've been thinking this for a while.
even before the arc scandal.

We were ALWAYS given the example of our young one (even little Kindergarten kids) speaking with boldness and being proud to be one of Jehovahs people.
When Geoffrey Jackson was asked by the Royal Commission, if they were Jehovahs spokespeople, Jackson's reply was not speaking with boldness. He replied...that it would be presumptuous to say that we are the only spokesperson that God is using. So, if they aren't the only ones, who else is? If the GB is not proud and bold, how can they expect small children and adults to follow their example?

No. I think over the next year or so you will see a dramatic drop in numbers. People are starting to talk and let's face it, JW's are on the internet. The hype of the 100 year thing is over, the new Bible lost is excitement and Jw dot org is loosing it's newness. People are leaving or still going and voting with their wallets. Time will tell but I think it is coming.
