This Website Was Mentioned By The Governing Body
by JW_Rogue inokay, so at the "imitate their faith" ca there was a special speaker from the gb.
and he started discussing psalms 1:1 and how we today could "sit in the seat of scoffers".
he then mentioned that many bros. and sisters criticize the org and think they are so smart by researching online.

The GB are making it way TOO EASY to criticize them! They are writing the material for us. ha ha -

Caption This Photo From The January Study Edition
by JW_Rogue inso as some are probably aware the january study edition has two articles on the anointed.
one basically discouraging people from believing they are anointed and another about how ones should view partakers.
this photo is from the second article:.

So you can question an anointed person but you can't question the GB being of the anointed? The JW's are the biggest bunch of hypocrites.
Growing up in this religion, we were taught NEVER to question the anointed. My how things have changed.

Australia - Elder Jailed Over Sex Abuse
by OrphanCrow inanother one.. https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/wa/a/30810834/church-elder-is-jailed-over-sex-abuse/.
a jehovah’s witness elder who sexually assaulted two vulnerable teenagers he met through the church was sentenced to three years jail yesterday over the “destructive” abuse.. david frank pople, 68, met the boys through the safety bay congregation of the church and assaulted them between 1989 and 1996.. one of the teens reported the sexual assaults to elders in 1997 but police were not made aware of the abuse until he filed a police report in 2014.pople was forcibly ejected from the church for being “insufficiently repentant” in 1997 and readmitted the following year at his request.. district court judge troy sweeney accepted pople was genuinely remorseful but said he had interfered with his victims’ natural maturing process in a “very destructive way”.“a message must be sent that child abuse is abhorrent and will not be tolerated by any civilised society,” she said.“they were vulnerable because they were young and because you were a church elder and their boss.”.
when pople admitted assaulting one of the boys during a conversation with an elder in the 1990s, he was told a judicial committee would be formed to deal with the issue.the elders spoke to pople in an apparent attempt to determine his level of remorse and later sent a letter to certain members of the congregation explaining in great detail why he had been ejected.. pople was in his 40s when he assaulted the boys at work, on his yacht and in his shoalwater home.he was close friends with the parents of his first victim and had helped the second victim with his bible studies.. defence lawyer nick scerri told the court pople was candid with the leadership of the church and made “very frank admissions” about some aspects of the offending in 1997.he said his client has been living three lives and was “deeply unhappy” when he assaulted the boys.“he had the life of the family man, the father, the husband,” mr scerri said.

It's interesting that Brother Lett stated in the Broadcasting a few months ago, that the child abuse issue was "apostate driven lies." This sick man who molested these children admitted it in a court of law. Really..."apostate driven lies?" Several others have admitted these CRIMES as well. "Apostate driven lies?" -

My cat died suddenly!
by Fisherman ini did not realize that they were symptoms that something was wrong with my cat -but i did notice that my cat was breathing a little differently for a period of about a few days.
i also noticed prior and after to that, that on occasion, my cat would cry at the litter box, but that was a very seldom event.. anyway, about a week ago i noticed the symptom that my very loved cat was breathing heavy.
so i called a taxi and i was going to rush him to emergency room for cats.

So sad Fisherman. Your pets become part of your family. So sorry for your loss. -

The Forgotten Ones
by ToesUp injust curious...is anyone hearing the older/infirm ones speaking out to others on how they are being treated in the congregation?
without giving anything away, i have spoken to so many older ones (some are sickly or can't drive in the evening or can't drive at all) who can't make it to all the meetings, assemblies, etc., that are complaining on how they are being treated by the more righteous ones in the hall.
the ones i have spoken to make the comment that it seems to be the younger elders that have less empathy and concern for these ones.

We can't say Gee, Gosh or Gee whiz? But we have no problem with Bible readings with children present that discuss Lot sleeping with his daughters, Noah dancing drunk and naked and producing disgusting videos regarding masterbation? You just can't make this sh*t up! -

It's the Hitler mentality..."you must be punished." If you can't make it to the meetings, tough sh*t! Can you feel the love? -

The ones I have spoken to make the comment that it seems to be the younger Elders that have less empathy and concern for these ones. They just don't understand it and are even suffering from depression due to the lack of love. Whatever happened to watching over the older ones in the congregation? The empathy seems to be diminishing or gone. Sad!
Good grief, even the evil non JW's (lol) have meals on wheels, so some of these ones don't starve. The JW's don't even seem to be able to give some loving encouragement to these ones. I was raised in a family that taught, you take care of your own and even look out after friends and neighbors. What the hell is happening?

"You wouldn't want to bring reproach on Jehovah's name, would you?"

Translation: "You don't want to make the GB/Watchtower look bad, do you?"
Just another one of the JW catch phrases. I think they have a book of catch phrases they refer to:
"They are imperfect men."
"Proper food at the proper time."
"Leave it in Jehovahs hands."
"Waiting on Jehovah."
The list goes on and on.

1974 Special Meetings
by NeonMadman inas we all know, armageddon was just around the corner in 1974. at the district conventions that year, it was announced that there would be two special meetings during the month of september; one would be for interested people (e.g., bible studies, family members, inactive, etc.
), and the other would be for baptized publishers.
these were to be held in place of the service meetings for the two weeks, iirc.

Looks like they used fear and guilt in 1974. Same crap, different day!
