Yes, I remember your story. It is so sad and we are so sorry for your loss.
It is beyond disgusting what JW families do to one another.
don't get here much anymore.
my mom, if you remember, really wanted to see her granddaughter before she died.

there are some things that as a witness i never knew.
maybe i was just going through the motions, attending meetings and not listening much.
never was very good at personal study or underlining answers in watchtower or book study (i never ever answered up) was too shy.. i never knew when i was a witness that they taught that jesus had looked down on the earth in 1919 to see who was serving god most accurately, and of course he chose a small group of bible students living in america!
is it a fact that all kh construction earth wide has stopped?
When the new Kingdom Hall design was introduced last year. They had photos of the inside. I counted 121 seats in the main hall and 22 seats in the second school (the room with the glass). This totals 143 seats for the new design. I can remember the last hall (old style) we attended had a seating capacity of 236.
Where they anticipating a decline when they introduced the LDC design or do they have different sizes of this new design? It seems to me they are expecting a decline in certain areas!
i booked a double appointment so that she wouldn't be rushed.
i explained that i'd been brought up in the jw's and woken up to what a load of shite it was.
i explained that they have changed the blood card and that the elders in the cong are being told to effectively force people into signing it.
If pressured by the Elders. Inform the elder(s), your lawyer handles all of your legal and healthcare matters. If you need my medical card I will be happy to give you their phone number? I guarantee you the matter will be dropped. You are not being disobedient to the Elders or Jah! Just following legal advice...blame your lawyer.
hello, i have been lurking for a while, but discovered ttatt for about 8 months now.
i am trying to fade out, problem is i have a big family i would lose if i got df'ed or da,'ed myself.
my wife knows how i feel, and is not thrilled but i cant hide my feelings.
im in the process of drifting out.
my entire family are jw's.
my wife and her family are too.
Don't say a word. Don't meet with the Elders. If you don't say anything, they can't use anything against you. We have told NOBODY in our family how we really feel. No one knows and we aren't telling. If you need to vent, vent on here or keep a journal.
If you don't want to do their little required tasks, just tell them you are busy or are not feeling well. Nothing more.
You don't owe anyone an explanation. People, in general, are nosy (especially JW's). If they are going to talk about you, they will have to make up something. Not only does this drive em crazy, it is kinda fun to watch them try so hard to extract info, only to find you're not playing into their hands.
a thought occurred that the way the society has stigmatised the doing of external research by witnesses, and labelling any such questioning as "apostate", is tragic.. no doubt, in every other aspect of life, we research things before making decisions.
eg, if making a purchase, we go online and check reviews etc to check the product out.
we don't just trust the words of the marketing department.
You are 100% correct! The internet is having a major impact on WT. The internet age is here and is biting WT in the a**. Telling people not to do research on a subject is crazy. If one of my kids came home and wanted to join a church or all of a sudden became consumed with a cult like JW, you would bet I would be on the internet to do my research.
This is a good thing!

norman grindley.
When our news team contacted the headquarters of the Jehovah's Witnesses in the United States, a representative said he was not an official spokesperson for the religious group and could not speak on the record.
It always amazes me. When the story for WT is negative. They always seem to have a problem finding an official spokesperson? Hmmm!

i have spent 45 years of my life sacrificing my soul to the watchtower.
twenty-five of those years as a ms/elder.
i gave every moment to them.
Great post.
Yes, I agree with flippers post above. WT should be held accountable for it's actions but WT has created "little monsters" out of some of it's members. You all know those....self righteous, arrogant, judgmental do gooders. These ones can tell you how YOU need to improve, yet their life is a train wreck. Most of these ones suffer from depression, yet we are told they are the "happiest people one earth."
