Why haven't you been to the meetings?
by Zana insome cong-member asked my wife this question (in the street, stopping her on her bicycle) in a rather police-like fashion.
i wasn't there so i don't know her immediate reaction and response, but she got very upset afterwards and one day later this still occupies her mind.
i believe it's an emotional mix of anger, sadness, shame and guilt.. she doesn't like this intrusion in her privacy from some jws and on the next occasion she will try to make this person respect her boundaries (or just ignore her).

Tell them you can not give up oral sex in your marriage and it really bothers your conscience. Therefore, you are ashamed to enter the Kingdom Hall. Watch them, as there jaws hit the floor and they make a quick exit.
OR
You could also tell them you are having financial problems and really could use some help from the "friends." Guaranteed to make any JW run like hell, never to be seen again. Lol

Welcome. So glad you are here. This site has helped us so much. Kind of like therapy. We love hearing the perspective of ex eldubs. I find it interesting that you used 2 words to describe WT. These are the same 2 words I use to describe their actions....abuse and bullying. This is the main reason we left 3 years ago, then we learned TTATT.

Don't you know God only brings extra sand when you are building a Kingdom Hall and he fixes leaks in roofs. He does not stop typhoons that hit Kingdom Halls, stop buses on their way to assemblies from crashing and he certainly can not stop a child from being molested.

Hello
by WITNESS-FOR-WATCHTOWER-REFORM injust to say a big hello.
i have been reading this site for some time now and have been very unhappy with some of the things emanating from watchtower head quarters in new york.
the final straw for me is the upcoming watchtower study this weekend encouraging us to shun our own family members (our own mothers if need be) if they are disfellowshipped....a step too far for my liking.

My Bible Study Is Wide Awake To The TTATT
by James Jack ini ran into my old bible study at the kingdom hall recently, he was baptized as a jw 8 years ago.
we started talking about small things and catching up about our families and then the bombshell.. "my wife and i are deeply troubled by the watchtower change of doctrine, prophecy, and their history"!
"did you know about charles russell and his failed marriage... his view of pyramids... generation mistakes... and dates... that place in california for returning prophets..."and on and on he went.. i told him i knew all about it and then show him a publication on display in the foyer (i think it is divine plan of the ages), and it had a fold out of a pyramid and a description on bible verses that showed 1914 was the year the big a was going to happen.

I think more and more people are scratching their heads on some of this.
So many do not know about Russell and his crazy pyramid scheme (lol) and the Beth Sarim mansion. I know if I told others I was going to buy a big yacht so all the Princesses (Sarah, Naomi, Rachel, etc) could come back and share my lovely yacht, my family and friends would reserve a room with rubber walls. Russell was an apostate, he left his original religion to start a new one. It's a man made religion. Watch the video, Faith in Action, and you will see how it is all man made. The first few minutes of this video really opened our eyes. We watched it years before our exit and just looked at each other with that perplexed, WTF look.
James, I wonder if he has read Crisis of Conscience. That would be a mind blower for him. It was for us!
