" Rather than teaching or doing research with his PhD, he now has non-permanent job teaching low-level math."
That's what happens when you let a man made cult run your life. Sad!

let's be clear: people have the right to like or dislike what they want - that is why the option is there.
as long as they are not doing it in a malicious way to retaliate or game the system, there is no policing the votes.
if you get a down-vote, live with it.
I appreciate the freedom this site provides to vent and offer your opinion on topics and matters. I sure do hope not everyone agrees with me or Mrs. Toesup 100% of the time. What a boring world it be! See Watchtowers websites. No tools to offer comments, like or dislike buttons. Nothing but their message with no other point of views allowed. I like the thumbs up and down buttons. Personal Freedom! This is why I left the Borg!
wow, this is awesome.
this really shows the jw passiveness towards child sex abusers.
there needs to be more of this exposing this!.
Great video! Boy....they took off! Hope this one continues to explode to the public. Hopefully, all of the child abuse scandal will not allow the JW's to knock at doors or sit at carts, without people approaching them. The majority of JW's I know couldn't stand the heat and would run like a little girl, if approached.
They can write this and say this all day long from the platform. From what we have experienced in our former congregation, as long as the Elder in question jumps through all the "elder hoops" and does all the crap work that the other Elders don't want to do, all is fine. They look the other way! HYPOCRITES!
We'll believe this when we see it. Oh...that's right..we don't go anymore! We are enjoying our lives!
i met an old friend last evening, a great guy, an xjw for longer than me.. during a conversation about our experiences since fading (neither of us are da'd or anything) we got to talking about the young jw's.. his wife is still in, and he has two lovely daughters who he is trying to teach the art of critical thinking so that they can make the right choice in the future.. what worries him though is that he is convinced almost all young jw's do not give a "proverbial" if it is the truth or not, they simply wish to remain in it because of the social aspects, loads of friends and activities that they feel safe partaking in etc etc.. so how do you convince these young people that they would have a better life if they left ?.
they see it as losing all their friends, and being alone and trying to build new relationships, which is mostly true.. how do we convince them to make the leap ?.
should they ?.
"The good thing is, this generation don't donate much if at all, they are a drain on the organisation not a resource."
Yes, the WT is feeling the drain from the lack of donations. No more giving of your "valuable" things. I have also heard some of the older ones making statements that they do not want to donate, they don't want their money going for child abuse lawsuits. When I hear this, it just makes me smile.
inspired by the three recent threads on david splane's new video declaring, among other things, that there was no faithful slave for 1900 years, and there may not have even been any genuine anointed ones during those years, i decided to make this post.. here are the three previous threads on this topic:.

Found this article in the about page on JW Org. I was a born in and was always taught Charles Taze Russell was the founder. Guess I was wrong!
The modern-day organization of Jehovah’s Witnesses began at the end of the 19th century. At that time, a small group of Bible students who lived near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the United States, began a systematic analysis of the Bible. They compared the doctrines taught by the churches with what the Bible really teaches. They began publishing what they learned in books, newspapers, and the journal that is now called The Watchtower—Announcing Jehovah’s Kingdom.
Among that group of sincere Bible students was a man named Charles Taze Russell. While Russell took the lead in the Bible education work at that time and was the first editor of The Watchtower, he was not the founder of a new religion. The goal of Russell and the other Bible Students, as the group was then known, was to promote the teachings of Jesus Christ and to follow the practices of the first-century Christian congregation. Since Jesus is the Founder of Christianity, we view him as the founder of our organization.—Colossians 1:18-20.

"how would you like your own headphones for the meeting?
my attention caught, i look up to see a 3-year old in the shopping cart then hear him say in a high whiny voice, "i don't want to go to the meeting.
Smart kid!
